Alpha is opening a flagship campus in this city, and we're looking for a leader who already knows Houston's education landscape. You will oversee 15 plus Guides who support and inspire students while our EdTech platform delivers all instruction. No "teaching". All execution. True leadership.
Your goal: make certain every student enjoys school, learns at twice the pace of conventional classrooms, and develops essential life skills. This is not a conventional Principal position. You will maintain rigorous standards, rely on data to guide decisions, and establish Houston's top-performing school from the start.

What you will be doing
- Launch Alpha's flagship Houston campus: Execute Alpha's three core promises for 100 plus students from day one with operational precision at every level.
- Facilitate live workshops with K through 12 students on life skills: Conduct compelling one-hour sessions covering public speaking, growth mindset, and feedback exchange. Apply Alpha's proven playbook to guarantee students develop competencies traditional schools overlook while enjoying the process.
- Drive every student toward 100 percent goal completion: Create personalized motivational frameworks for each learner. Deploy data-informed strategies to address resistance and sustain engagement with the Alpha platform. Success is defined by every student achieving their objectives.
- Develop Guides through targeted coaching: Leverage quantitative and qualitative metrics to pinpoint performance shortfalls. Provide precise, actionable guidance in coaching conversations and monitor progress. Hold your team to account using logic and objectivity, not empathy that weakens standards.
- Lead campus operations through data analysis: Evaluate performance across personnel, operations, parent engagement, and campus culture. Identify issues, perform root cause analysis, engage stakeholders, and execute measurable interventions. Document every decision and refine based on outcomes.
- Maintain excellence without exception: Establish and uphold Alpha's quality expectations for students and staff. Make difficult decisions when performance is insufficient. Model the standard as the leader of your campus.
Candidate requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related field. Master's preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, business, or related field
- Direct experience building and managing teams of at least 15 people with full hiring and firing authority
- Deep knowledge of the Houston or wider Texas education landscape. This insight into local student needs, community dynamics, and competitive school environment is highly valuable to Alpha's Houston launch.
- Experience working with youth ages 5 through 14
- Strong data analysis skills and experience using metrics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement
- Passion for transforming education. Belief that the traditional system is fundamentally broken.
- Startup mindset: thrives under pressure, adaptable in new situations, comfortable building systems from scratch
- Compelling and energetic speaker who commands attention from rooms full of students or staff
- Able to relate to K through 12 students, understand their interests and culture, serve as a positive role model
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
