School Leader   $200,000 USD/year

Description

  • Houston. 200,000 dollar salary, paid weekly
  • Day-one health benefits, HSA, FSA, 401k Roth

Are you tired of seeing Houston students fall behind in a system that prevents you from upholding the standards they need to succeed?

Alpha is opening a flagship campus in this city, and we're looking for a leader who knows Houston's educational landscape inside and out. You will manage 15 plus Guides who mentor and inspire students while our EdTech platform delivers all instruction. No "teaching". All action. Pure leadership.

Your objective: guarantee that every student enjoys school, learns at twice the pace of conventional classrooms, and develops essential life skills. This is not a conventional Principal position. You will uphold rigorous standards, make decisions rooted in data, and establish Houston's premier school from the ground up.

Lead through data. Coach toward excellence. Apply now.

What you will be doing

  • Launch Alpha's flagship Houston campus: Execute Alpha's three core promises to 100 plus students from the start with operational excellence across every function.
  • Facilitate live workshops for K through 12 students on life skills: Lead one-hour sessions covering public speaking, growth mindset, and feedback exchange. Use Alpha's established playbook to ensure students develop competencies traditional schools overlook while staying engaged and energized.
  • Drive every student to 100 percent goal completion: Create personalized motivational frameworks for each learner. Apply data-informed strategies to address obstacles and sustain engagement with the Alpha platform. Success is defined by every student reaching their objectives.
  • Coach Guides toward peak performance: Leverage quantitative and qualitative data to pinpoint gaps in performance. Provide direct, actionable guidance during coaching sessions and monitor progress. Hold your team to account using logic and objectivity, not empathy that lowers standards.
  • Execute data-driven campus leadership: Evaluate performance across staff, operations, parent engagement, and culture. Identify challenges, perform root cause analysis, consult relevant stakeholders, and implement measurable interventions. Document every decision and refine based on outcomes.
  • Uphold excellence without exception: Establish and sustain Alpha's high standards for students and staff. Make difficult decisions when performance does not meet expectations. Model the standard as the leader of your campus.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or a related discipline. Master's preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, business, or a related field
  • Proven experience building and managing teams of at least 15 people with full hiring and firing responsibility
  • Extensive knowledge of the Houston or broader Texas education environment. This understanding of local student needs, community context, and the competitive school market is critical to Alpha's Houston launch.
  • Experience working directly with youth ages 5 through 14
  • Demonstrated data analysis capabilities and experience leveraging metrics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement
  • Commitment to transforming education. Conviction that the traditional system is fundamentally broken.
  • Startup mentality: performs well under pressure, adaptable in unfamiliar contexts, comfortable establishing systems from the ground up
  • Dynamic and engaging speaker who captures the attention of large groups of students or staff
  • Capable of connecting with K through 12 students, understanding their interests and culture, and serving as a positive role model
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
