Are you tired of seeing Houston students trapped by a system that prevents you from upholding the standards they need?

Alpha is opening a flagship campus in this city, and we're searching for a leader who already knows Houston's educational landscape. You'll oversee 15 plus Guides who coach and inspire students while our EdTech platform delivers all instruction. No "teaching". All execution. Pure leadership.

Your objective: make certain every student enjoys school, learns at double the speed of conventional classrooms, and acquires essential life competencies. This is not a conventional Principal position. You'll maintain rigorous standards, rely on data to make decisions, and create Houston's premier school from the start.

Lead through data. Coach toward excellence. Apply now.

What you will be doing

  • Launch Alpha's flagship Houston campus: Execute Alpha's three core promises for 100 plus students from the outset with comprehensive operational excellence.
  • Facilitate live workshops with K through 12 students on life skills: Conduct compelling one-hour sessions covering public speaking, growth mindset, feedback exchange. Apply Alpha's structured playbook to guarantee students gain competencies traditional schools overlook while remaining engaged.
  • Drive every student toward 100 percent goal achievement: Construct personalized motivational frameworks for each learner. Deploy data-informed strategies to address obstacles and sustain engagement with the Alpha platform. Success is defined by every student reaching their objectives.
  • Develop Guides to peak performance: Leverage quantitative and qualitative metrics to pinpoint capability gaps. Provide direct, practical feedback during coaching sessions and monitor progress. Maintain team accountability through logic and objectivity, not empathy that weakens standards.
  • Execute data-informed campus leadership: Evaluate performance across personnel, operations, parent engagement, and culture. Identify challenges, perform root cause analysis, engage stakeholders, deploy measurable solutions. Monitor every action and refine based on outcomes.
  • Uphold excellence without exception: Establish and sustain Alpha's performance benchmark for students and staff. Execute difficult decisions when outcomes fall below expectations. Model the standard on your campus through personal example.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related field. Master's preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, business, or related field
  • Direct experience building and managing teams of at least 15 people with full hiring and firing authority
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Houston or broader Texas education environment. This knowledge of local student requirements, community factors, and competitive school landscape is essential for Alpha's Houston launch.
  • Experience working with youth ages 5 through 14
  • Robust data analysis capabilities and proven track record using metrics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement
  • Commitment to education transformation. Conviction that the traditional system is fundamentally inadequate.
  • Startup mentality: excels under pressure, flexible in evolving environments, confident building frameworks from the ground up
  • Dynamic and engaging communicator who captures attention from large groups of students or staff
  • Capable of connecting with K through 12 students, comprehending their interests and culture, acting as a constructive role model
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
