Montessori Program Director   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • Based onsite in Austin, TX. Relocation assistance provided
  • Annual salary of $150,000, disbursed weekly
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage begins immediately

Imagine a learning environment where each play interaction generates observable progress in child development.

Alpha's approach to early education diverges from conventional models. Our PreK offering integrates play-centered curriculum architecture with live developmental tracking — no prescribed lesson sequences, no procedural checklists. You will architect flexible learning experiences across all developmental domains, guide a team of educators to execute them with both rigor and warmth, and monitor quantifiable progress markers for each child under your care.

This position requires active classroom presence. Approximately one-third of your schedule will be spent in learning spaces — demonstrating facilitation methods, observing instruction, and conducting alignment sessions. The remaining time will focus on curriculum architecture, coaching educators toward concrete performance targets, and providing families with research-grounded progress communication. Your influence will be visible: four-year-olds reaching benchmarks ahead of schedule, educators elevating their practice metrics consistently, and families championing the program.

Mentor the educators. Architect the experiences. Submit your application today.

What you will be doing

  • Conduct individualized and small-group coaching for PreK educators, demonstrating methods and recognizing quantifiable progress
  • Architect and lead play-centered learning experiences integrating social-emotional learning, literacy, numeracy, and physical development, exemplifying excellence for your team
  • Assess and align educator documentation on a weekly basis against established rubrics and developmental tracking standards, facilitating calibration meetings to maintain progress transparency
  • Create family communications and coordinate team briefings that synchronize objectives and sustain collective commitment to campus-wide PreK outcome targets

What you will NOT be doing

  • Executing prescriptive lesson plans or procedure-focused protocols — you will architect responsive, play-centered experiences informed by live developmental data
  • Delivering a predetermined curriculum imposed from external sources — you control the quarterly and weekly instructional design
  • Operating without structured feedback mechanisms — coaching dialogues and calibration reviews are integrated weekly
  • Supervising K-12 learners using application-based platforms — this position centers exclusively on early childhood, in-person, classroom-embedded leadership

Key responsibilities

Advance campus-wide PreK developmental outcomes through educator coaching, programmatic consistency, and engaging, evidence-informed classroom environments.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, or related discipline; Master's degree or specialized certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience in early childhood education, child development, or related domain
  • Direct experience facilitating groups of young children ages 3 to 5
  • Demonstrated capacity to design and deploy play-based educational frameworks or curricula that accelerate developmental milestones, such as Montessori approaches
  • At least 1 year coaching or supervising a team of educators with measurable performance outcomes
  • Experience composing written family progress communications and facilitating team coordination meetings within educational contexts
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Commitment to working in-person at Alpha's Austin campus, with relocation assistance available as needed

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of educational technology platforms, adaptive analytics dashboards, or digital observation systems utilized in early childhood environments
  • Background in behavior support methodologies and co-regulation approaches for children ages 3-5
