Montessori Instructional Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • On-site role in Austin, TX. Relocation assistance available
  • $150,000 annual salary, paid weekly
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage from day one

Every play interaction can serve as a gateway to documented developmental progress.

Alpha's approach to education breaks from conventional models. Our PreK framework integrates play-based instructional design with live developmental tracking — no prescriptive lesson plans, no bureaucratic checklists. You will architect flexible learning experiences spanning all developmental readiness areas, guide a team of Guides to implement them with both accuracy and enthusiasm, and monitor quantifiable milestone advancement for each child.

This role demands active, classroom-level engagement. Approximately one-third of your time will be classroom-based — demonstrating facilitation methods, observing instruction, and facilitating alignment sessions. The remainder involves curriculum architecture, coaching Guides toward concrete performance benchmarks, and delivering evidence-backed family communications. Your contributions will be visible: four-year-olds achieving milestones ahead of schedule, Guides advancing their effectiveness metrics consistently, and families becoming champions of the program.

Guide the Guides. Architect the learning. Submit your application today.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitate individual and small-group coaching for PreK Guides, demonstrating methods and recognizing quantifiable progress
  • Architect and lead play-based instructional sessions integrating social-emotional learning, literacy, numeracy, and motor development, exemplifying excellence for the teaching team
  • Evaluate and align Guide documentation on a weekly basis for rubric consistency and clarity, conducting alignment sessions to maintain milestone transparency
  • Develop family communications and conduct team briefings that synchronize priorities and strengthen collective commitment to campus PreK readiness targets

What you will NOT be doing

  • Executing prescriptive lesson plans or process-heavy protocols — you will build responsive, play-centered experiences informed by live developmental data
  • Implementing a static curriculum provided from leadership — you control quarterly and weekly instructional planning
  • Operating independently without structured feedback — coaching dialogues and calibration meetings are embedded weekly
  • Supporting K-12 learners on software-based platforms — this position centers exclusively on early childhood, hands-on classroom engagement

Key responsibilities

Elevate campus PreK readiness performance through guide development, program consistency, and engaging, evidence-informed classroom environments.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, or related discipline; Master's degree or specialized certification preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in early childhood education, child development, or related area
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating learning for groups of young children ages 3 to 5
  • Documented success designing and executing play-based programs or curricula that support developmental milestone achievement, such as Montessori
  • At least 1 year of experience coaching or supervising educators with clear performance expectations
  • Experience creating written progress communications for families and facilitating team coordination meetings in educational environments
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Commitment to working on-site at Alpha's Austin campus, with relocation support offered as needed

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of edtech systems, adaptive analytics interfaces, or digital observation platforms in early childhood contexts
  • Background in behavior guidance frameworks and co-regulation methods for children ages 3-5
