Pre-K Lead Guide   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • Based onsite in Austin, TX, with relocation assistance available
  • $150,000 annual salary, paid out weekly
  • Immediate access to health, dental, and vision coverage from day one

Imagine a learning environment where each play experience drives documented developmental progress.

Alpha's approach to early education diverges from conventional schooling. Our PreK framework integrates play-centered curriculum architecture with live developmental tracking — no prescriptive lesson plans, no bureaucratic task lists. You will architect responsive learning themes spanning all developmental readiness areas, mentor a team of Guides to execute them with both accuracy and enthusiasm, and monitor quantifiable milestone advancement for every child under your leadership.

This is an active leadership position. Approximately one-third of your working hours will be classroom-based — demonstrating facilitation methods, observing instructional delivery, and conducting alignment reviews. The remaining time involves building curriculum, mentoring Guides using concrete and measurable benchmarks, and maintaining transparent communication with families through data-informed progress reports. The results of your efforts will be visible: four-year-olds reaching developmental markers ahead of schedule, Guides elevating their performance metrics consistently, and families turning into program champions.

Mentor the Guides. Architect the learning. Apply today.

What you will be doing

  • Conduct individualized and small-group mentoring for PreK Guides, demonstrating effective techniques and acknowledging quantifiable progress
  • Architect and lead play-centered learning experiences that integrate social-emotional learning, literacy, numeracy, and physical development, exemplifying best practice for your team
  • Audit and standardize Guide records on a weekly basis to ensure rubric consistency and clarity, facilitating alignment meetings to maintain transparent milestone tracking
  • Draft family communications and coordinate team briefings that synchronize objectives and uphold collective standards for campus-wide PreK developmental targets

What you will NOT be doing

  • Executing fixed lesson templates or compliance-focused protocols — you'll architect flexible, play-centered themes informed by live developmental data
  • Delivering instruction from a predetermined curriculum imposed from leadership — you control the quarterly and weekly learning architecture
  • Operating independently without structured feedback — mentoring dialogues and standardization sessions are embedded weekly
  • Overseeing K-12 learners on digital platforms — this position is exclusively focused on early childhood, tactile, classroom-based instruction

Key responsibilities

Advance campus-wide PreK developmental readiness through guide mentorship, instructional consistency, and engaging, evidence-informed classroom experiences.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related discipline; Master's degree or advanced certification preferred
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in early childhood education, child development, or a closely related domain
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating groups of young learners between the ages of 3 and 5
  • Documented success designing and delivering play-based learning programs or curricula that promote developmental milestone achievement, such as Montessori approaches
  • A minimum of 1 year mentoring or supervising a team of educators with clear performance expectations
  • Track record of composing written family progress communications and facilitating team coordination meetings within educational environments
  • Current legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Commitment to working in-person at the Alpha Austin campus, with relocation assistance offered as necessary

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of educational technology systems, adaptive assessment dashboards, or digital documentation tools deployed in early learning environments
  • Background in behavioral support methods and co-regulation practices for children aged 3 to 5
