Learning Experience Designer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

You are not here to deliver scripted lessons. You are here to create experiences that prompt adults to ask, "Wait… a kid accomplished that?" If you have felt constrained by rigid curriculums, bureaucratic approval chains, or diluted expectations, this is your opportunity to start fresh. You will craft ambitious, authentic Life Skills experiences where challenge is intentional, and measurable progress is the outcome.

Alpha Anywhere is a remote program designed to develop life skills in students ages 8–14 through live workshops and authentic challenges, not passive lectures and worksheets. This role exists to evolve a founder-led pilot into a scalable, faculty-delivered program. You will design, lead, and refine the complete cycle. You will launch workshops, build standalone challenges, run iterative feedback loops, and produce showcases where students present work they are genuinely proud of.

This is not a structured, risk-averse position. You will be empowered to solve problems, elevate standards, and capture what works so future team members can build on it. If you excel with creative freedom, possess compelling on-camera skills, and trust that kids can rise to difficult tasks, you will produce career-defining work here.

If you want your impact measured by genuine transformation, not administrative tasks, we should talk.

What you will be doing

  • Lead live, student-driven workshops where participants do the majority of speaking and acting, while you respond dynamically
  • Create independent, standalone challenges with defined mastery standards and concrete deliverables students can finish without intensive one-on-one guidance
  • Provide rapid, actionable feedback that clarifies "what is my next step?" and enables measurable progress at scale
  • Refine workshops based on data (results, observations, recordings, participant input) and record updates so the program improves continuously
  • Organize showcases where students share their work with families and display observable growth and self-assurance

What you will NOT be doing

  • Execute a pre-packaged curriculum or deliver lessons scripted by others
  • Dedicate your time to grading, standardized test preparation, or compliance-focused busywork
  • Navigate bureaucratic approval processes before testing an approach, running a pilot, or launching an update
  • Depend on physical presence to generate engagement; you will build rapport and drive momentum virtually

Key responsibilities

This role exists so Alpha Anywhere can scale a faculty-delivered Life Skills program that reliably generates exceptional student outcomes and enables significant enrollment expansion without reliance on founder-led delivery.

Candidate requirements

  • Experience having designed and delivered at least one experience end-to-end (program, game, camp, training, performance, or similar)
  • Experience working directly with students ages 8–14 in any capacity
  • Strong virtual presence with clear communication and the ability to build connection on camera
  • Ability to work 40 hours/week with 70%+ of your time available between 8am–8pm CT, Monday–Friday
  • Reliable internet and a professional, stable setup for virtual facilitation
  • Demonstrated ability to build in ambiguity, iterate fast, and hold a high bar without lowering standards when students struggle

Nice to have

  • Background in experiential design (games, theater, youth programs, coaching, or startup-style building)
  • Experience designing objective rubrics, exemplars, or mastery-based assessments
  • Proven habit of documenting and systemizing your work so others can repeat and improve it
