Learning Experience Designer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

You are not being hired to deliver lessons. Your job is to design experiences that lead adults to ask, "A kid accomplished that?" If rigid curriculum guidelines, lengthy approval chains, or lowered expectations have held you back, this is your opportunity to start fresh. You will create ambitious, authentic Life Skills experiences where challenge is intentional and measurable progress is the outcome.

Alpha Anywhere is a virtual program serving students ages 8–14, building life skills through interactive workshops and authentic challenges—not passive instruction or busy work. This position is designed to transform a founder-led pilot into a scalable, faculty-operated program. You will design experiences, facilitate sessions, and refine the entire cycle. You will launch workshops, build standalone challenges, close feedback loops, and organize showcases where students present work they're genuinely proud of.

This is not a structured, heavily supervised position. You will be expected to solve problems independently, elevate quality, and capture what succeeds so it can be replicated. If you excel with autonomy, possess compelling on-camera skills, and trust that children can rise to difficulty, this will be the most impactful work you've done.

If you want impact measured by genuine transformation rather than task completion, let's talk.

What you will be doing

  • Lead live, student-driven workshops where children do the majority of speaking and working, while you adjust dynamically
  • Create standalone, self-directed challenges with defined mastery standards and concrete deliverables students can accomplish with minimal individual guidance
  • Provide rapid, actionable feedback that clarifies "what's my next step?" and produces quantifiable progress at scale
  • Refine workshops based on data (results, session notes, video recordings, student input) and record updates so the program improves continuously
  • Organize showcases where students share their achievements with families and exhibit clear gains in skill and self-assurance

What you will NOT be doing

  • Execute a prescribed curriculum or deliver lessons written by others
  • Dedicate time to grading, standardized test preparation, or bureaucratic "checkbox" assignments
  • Navigate multiple approval stages before testing a concept, piloting an approach, or releasing an update
  • Depend on in-person presence to generate engagement; you will build rapport and drive momentum through a screen

Key responsibilities

This position enables Alpha Anywhere to scale a faculty-operated Life Skills program that reliably delivers exceptional student outcomes and supports substantial enrollment expansion beyond founder-led sessions.

Candidate requirements

  • Track record of designing and executing at least one complete experience from start to finish (program, game, camp, training, performance, or comparable)
  • Direct experience working with students ages 8–14 in any setting
  • Compelling virtual presence with articulate communication and capacity to establish connection on camera
  • Availability to work 40 hours/week with at least 70% of your schedule open between 8am–8pm CT, Monday–Friday
  • Dependable internet connection and a professional, stable environment for virtual facilitation
  • Proven capacity to create in uncertain conditions, iterate rapidly, and maintain rigorous standards even when students face difficulty

Nice to have

  • Experience in experiential design fields (games, theater, youth programming, coaching, or entrepreneurial building)
  • Background creating objective rubrics, exemplars, or mastery-oriented assessments
  • Established practice of documenting and systematizing your methods so others can replicate and enhance them
