Experiential Learning Designer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

This role is not about teaching. It is about engineering experiences that prompt adults to ask, "A child produced that?" If you have been confined by rigid curriculums, sluggish approval chains, or compromised expectations, this represents a departure. You will construct ambitious, authentic Life Skills encounters where meaningful challenge is central and observable progress is the metric.

Alpha Anywhere operates as a remote program supporting students ages 8–14 in developing life skills through live workshops and authentic challenges—not passive lectures or rote worksheets. This position was created to evolve a founder-led pilot into a scalable, faculty-executed system. You will design, deliver, and refine the entire cycle. You will launch workshops, develop independent challenges, implement feedback loops, and organize showcases that students present with pride.

This is not a protected, micromanaged position. You will be empowered to solve problems, elevate standards, and capture what succeeds so others can replicate it. If you excel with autonomy, possess compelling on-camera capability, and trust that children can manage complexity, you will produce your most impactful work here.

If you want outcomes measured by genuine transformation rather than procedural compliance, we should connect.

What you will be doing

  • Lead live, student-driven workshops where participants carry the conversation and activity while you adjust dynamically
  • Build standalone, independent challenges featuring explicit mastery standards and concrete deliverables students can accomplish with minimal direct support
  • Provide rapid, precise feedback that clarifies "what is my next step?" and produces quantifiable progress across cohorts
  • Refine workshops based on evidence (results, observations, recordings, input) and record revisions so the program strengthens continuously
  • Organize showcases in which students present their accomplishments to families and exhibit clear growth and self-assurance

What you will NOT be doing

  • Execute a prefabricated curriculum or deliver lessons scripted by others
  • Dedicate time to grading, standardized test preparation, or compliance-oriented administrative tasks
  • Navigate bureaucratic approval processes before testing concepts, running trials, or deploying changes
  • Depend on physical presence to generate engagement; you will cultivate connection and energy through the screen

Key responsibilities

This role exists so Alpha Anywhere can expand a faculty-operated Life Skills program that reliably delivers exceptional student outcomes and enables substantial enrollment growth without reliance on founder-led instruction.

Candidate requirements

  • Experience designing and executing at least one complete experience from start to finish (program, game, camp, training, performance, or equivalent)
  • Experience engaging directly with students ages 8–14 in any context
  • Compelling virtual presence with articulate communication and the capacity to establish rapport on camera
  • Capacity to commit 40 hours/week with 70%+ availability during 8am–8pm CT, Monday–Friday
  • Dependable internet connection and a professional, stable environment for virtual facilitation
  • Proven capacity to operate in ambiguity, iterate rapidly, and maintain rigorous standards even when students face difficulty

Nice to have

  • Background in experiential design disciplines (games, theater, youth programming, coaching, or entrepreneurial building)
  • Experience creating objective rubrics, exemplars, or mastery-based evaluation tools
  • Consistent practice of documenting and systematizing your methods so others can replicate and enhance them
