Youth Program Designer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

This position is not about teaching from a manual. It is about creating experiences that lead adults to ask, "A kid really accomplished that?" If you have experienced the limitations of rigid curricula, bureaucratic approvals, or diminished expectations, this opportunity offers a fresh start. You will construct ambitious, authentic Life Skills programming where challenge is intentional and measurable progress is the standard.

Alpha Anywhere operates as a remote program supporting students ages 8–14 in developing life skills via live workshops and substantive challenges—not traditional lectures and worksheets. This position is designed to transform a founder-led pilot into a scalable, faculty-run system. You will design, facilitate, and refine the complete cycle. You will launch workshops, develop independent challenges, manage feedback processes, and organize showcases where students present their work with confidence.

This is not a position offering constant oversight or defined boundaries. You will be expected to problem-solve independently, elevate standards, and capture what succeeds so it can be transferred to others. If you flourish with autonomy, possess compelling on-camera skills, and trust young people to rise to difficult tasks, this will represent the most meaningful work you have done.

If you prefer your impact measured through genuine transformation rather than administrative compliance, we should speak.

What you will be doing

  • Lead live, student-centered workshops where participants drive conversation and activity while you respond dynamically to their needs
  • Create independent, standalone challenges featuring explicit mastery standards and concrete deliverables students can pursue without constant individual guidance
  • Provide rapid, actionable feedback that clarifies next steps and produces quantifiable progress across multiple students
  • Refine workshop design through evidence—including student outcomes, session notes, video recordings, and participant input—and record adjustments to strengthen the program continuously
  • Organize showcases where students share their accomplishments with families and display tangible growth and self-assurance

What you will NOT be doing

  • Execute a predefined curriculum or deliver instruction written by other parties
  • Dedicate time to grading, standardized test preparation, or compliance-focused administrative tasks
  • Navigate multiple approval stages before testing new approaches, conducting experiments, or implementing changes
  • Depend on physical presence to generate engagement; you will establish rapport and drive momentum through virtual platforms

Key responsibilities

This role is designed to enable Alpha Anywhere to scale a faculty-operated Life Skills program that reliably generates exceptional student results and accommodates substantial enrollment expansion without depending on founder-led instruction.

Candidate requirements

  • Demonstrated experience designing and executing at least one complete experience from start to finish (examples include programs, games, camps, training sessions, performances, or comparable projects)
  • Direct experience working with students ages 8–14 in any professional or volunteer context
  • Compelling virtual presence, including clear verbal communication and the capacity to foster connection through a camera
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week, with at least 70% of your schedule accessible between 8am–8pm CT, Monday–Friday
  • Dependable internet access and a professional, consistent environment suitable for virtual facilitation
  • Proven capacity to operate effectively in uncertain conditions, iterate quickly, and maintain rigorous standards even when students face difficulties

Nice to have

  • Experience in experiential design fields such as games, theater, youth programming, coaching, or startup-style product development
  • Track record designing objective rubrics, exemplar models, or mastery-oriented assessment frameworks
  • Consistent practice of documenting and systematizing processes to enable others to replicate and enhance your work
