Workshop Designer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Your job is not to deliver lessons—it's to create experiences that make adults stop and ask, "A kid built that?" If you've been constrained by rigid syllabi, bureaucratic sign-offs, or watered-down expectations, this is your chance to start fresh. You will craft ambitious, authentic Life Skills workshops where productive challenge is central and visible student progress is the measure of success.

Alpha Anywhere is a remote learning program designed to develop life skills in students ages 8–14 through interactive workshops and authentic challenges—not passive lectures or rote assignments. This role was created to transform a founder-led prototype into a scalable, faculty-operated program. You will design experiences, facilitate sessions, and refine the entire cycle. You will launch workshops, build independent challenges, gather and act on feedback, and orchestrate showcases that students take pride in sharing.

This is not a structured, closely supervised position. You will be empowered to solve problems, elevate quality, and capture what succeeds so it can be replicated. If you excel with autonomy, command attention on video, and trust that young people can rise to real difficulty, this will be the most fulfilling work you've done.

If you want your impact measured by genuine transformation rather than task completion, let's talk.

What you will be doing

  • Lead live, student-centered workshops where participants do the majority of speaking and working, while you respond and adjust dynamically
  • Create standalone challenges with explicit mastery standards and concrete deliverables that students can tackle without intensive one-on-one guidance
  • Provide rapid, targeted feedback that answers "what's my next step?" and produces quantifiable growth across many students
  • Refine workshops based on data (results, session notes, video review, participant input) and record updates so the program strengthens continuously
  • Organize showcases where students share their accomplishments with families and display measurable gains in skill and self-assurance

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver a pre-packaged curriculum or rely on lesson plans created by others
  • Devote time to grading, standardized test preparation, or compliance-focused busywork
  • Navigate multiple approval gates before testing a concept, running a trial, or implementing a change
  • Depend on physical presence to generate engagement; you will build rapport and drive energy through a screen

Key responsibilities

This role exists so Alpha Anywhere can expand a faculty-led Life Skills program that reliably generates exceptional student outcomes and enables significant enrollment scaling beyond founder-led sessions.

Candidate requirements

  • Experience having created and executed at least one complete experience from start to finish (program, game, camp, training, performance, or similar)
  • Experience working directly with students ages 8–14 in any capacity
  • Strong virtual presence with clear communication and the ability to build connection on camera
  • Ability to work 40 hours/week with 70%+ of your time available between 8am–8pm CT, Monday–Friday
  • Reliable internet and a professional, stable setup for virtual facilitation
  • Demonstrated ability to build in ambiguity, iterate fast, and hold a high bar without lowering standards when students struggle

Nice to have

  • Background in experiential design (games, theater, youth programs, coaching, or startup-style building)
  • Experience designing objective rubrics, exemplars, or mastery-based assessments
  • Proven habit of documenting and systemizing your work so others can repeat and improve it
