Life Skills Curriculum Designer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Your role is not to "teach." It is to architect experiences that compel adults to ask, "Wait… a kid did that?" If you have been confined by rigid curriculums, sluggish approval chains, or diminished expectations, this is your opportunity to reset. You will construct bold, authentic Life Skills experiences where productive struggle is central, and observable growth serves as evidence.

Alpha Anywhere is a remote program enabling students ages 8–14 to develop life skills through live workshops and authentic challenges—not lectures or worksheets. This role is designed to transform a founder-run pilot into a scalable, faculty-delivered program. You will design, facilitate, and refine the complete cycle. You will launch workshops, develop independent challenges, execute feedback loops, and stage showcases that students present with pride.

This is not a predictable, tightly supervised position. You will be entrusted to solve problems, elevate standards, and document effective practices for others to inherit. If you excel with autonomy, possess compelling on-camera skills, and believe children can rise to difficult tasks, you will produce your finest work here.

If you prefer your impact measured by genuine transformation rather than compliance metrics, we are eager to meet you.

What you will be doing

  • Lead live, student-driven workshops where participants handle the majority of discussion and action, while you adjust dynamically
  • Create independent, self-sufficient challenges featuring explicit mastery standards and concrete deliverables students can accomplish without intensive individual guidance
  • Provide rapid, targeted feedback that clarifies "what is my next step?" and generates quantifiable progress at scale
  • Refine workshops based on data (results, documentation, recordings, feedback) and record modifications so the program improves continuously
  • Organize showcases where students share their achievements with families and exhibit clear gains in skill and self-assurance

What you will NOT be doing

  • Execute a prefabricated curriculum or deliver lessons scripted by others
  • Devote your time to grading, standardized test preparation, or compliance-oriented "check the box" assignments
  • Navigate multiple approval stages before testing an approach, running a trial, or implementing a change
  • Depend on physical proximity to generate engagement; you will foster connection and drive on camera

Key responsibilities

This role exists so Alpha Anywhere can scale a faculty-delivered Life Skills program that reliably generates "impossible" student outcomes and enables substantial enrollment expansion without founder-led facilitation.

Candidate requirements

  • Experience having designed and delivered at least one experience end-to-end (program, game, camp, training, performance, or similar)
  • Experience working directly with students ages 8–14 in any capacity
  • Strong virtual presence with clear communication and the ability to build connection on camera
  • Ability to work 40 hours/week with 70%+ of your time available between 8am–8pm CT, Monday–Friday
  • Reliable internet and a professional, stable setup for virtual facilitation
  • Demonstrated ability to build in ambiguity, iterate fast, and hold a high bar without lowering standards when students struggle

Nice to have

  • Background in experiential design (games, theater, youth programs, coaching, or startup-style building)
  • Experience designing objective rubrics, exemplars, or mastery-based assessments
  • Proven habit of documenting and systemizing your work so others can repeat and improve it
