Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • On-site position in Dorado, Puerto Rico
  • $150,000 annual salary, distributed weekly

If conventional schooling no longer challenges you and you will not compromise excellence for comfort, this opportunity will stand apart. You will guide children and adults toward ambitious goals through transparent standards and measurable data—not through traditional lectures or static lesson plans.

Alpha School is constructing an AI-driven educational framework in which students complete core academic work in only two hours each day, dedicating their afternoons to developing practical life competencies. Our commitment is both straightforward and rigorous: students are engaged, progress at twice the speed of their peers, and acquire essential life skills. This position ensures that commitment becomes reality for every K–8 learner at our Dorado location.

You will remain actively involved. You will deliver one-hour workshops focused on life skills, facilitate structured sessions designed to motivate students through their academic applications, and provide Guides with targeted feedback and specific steps for improvement. This is neither a conventional teaching position nor a supervisory role conducted from a distance. You will own outcomes, adherence to operational protocols, and the maintenance of rigorous standards.

If you are prepared to lead by example and establish a campus environment where achievement is the product of effort, submit your application and demonstrate how you uphold high expectations without compromise.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver one-hour life skills workshops for K–8 students by preparing materials and executing activities in strict alignment with playbooks
  • Conduct structured motivation sessions designed to drive students forward in academic applications and achieve defined targets
  • Observe Guides during implementation and provide standards-based coaching that includes actionable improvement steps and accountability
  • Apply objective, metrics-informed judgment to maintain mastery standards, even in challenging circumstances
  • Work alongside campus staff daily to guarantee consistent fulfillment of Alpha's 3 Promises

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver or support academic instruction in a conventional classroom setting
  • Develop lesson plans or create new curriculum
  • Modify workshops on the fly or deviate from prescribed playbooks
  • Relax mastery benchmarks or adjust targets to create the appearance of achievement
  • Manage from behind a desk through administrative tasks while others engage directly with students

Key responsibilities

Ensure that every K–8 student at Alpha's Dorado campus reliably encounters Alpha's 3 Promises: they love school, learn 2× faster, and build life skills.

Candidate requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in Puerto Rico
  • Capacity to work full-time on-site at the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of applicable experience coaching individuals toward ambitious goals
  • Experience working with children ages 5–14 in coaching, motivation, or youth development contexts
  • Experience coaching or managing adult performance using explicit standards and accountability frameworks
  • Strong verbal communication skills tailored to K–8 learners
  • Data-driven decision-making capability (leveraging metrics and analytics to inform strategy and maintain standards)
  • High-standards orientation with comfort delivering direct feedback and sustaining goals without exception
