Description

  • On-site role based in Dorado, Puerto Rico
  • Annual compensation of 150,000 USD, distributed weekly

If you have outpaced conventional education models and resist compromising standards for the sake of comfort, this opportunity offers a different approach. You will guide children and adults toward ambitious goals using objective data and defined expectations—not through traditional lectures or lesson planning.

Alpha School is developing an AI-driven educational framework in which students complete core academics in only two hours each day, then dedicate their afternoons to cultivating practical life competencies. Our commitment is straightforward and rigorous: students enjoy school, achieve learning velocity twice that of their peers, and develop real-world skills. This position ensures that commitment becomes reality for every K–8 learner at our Dorado location.

You will remain operationally engaged. You will deliver one-hour life skills workshops, facilitate structured sessions that advance student progress in academic applications, and provide Guides with direct, actionable coaching grounded in clear improvement steps. This is neither a conventional teaching position nor a passive management function. You will be held accountable for measurable outcomes, adherence to operational playbooks, and unwavering standards.

If you are prepared to lead by example and establish a campus environment where results are achieved through discipline, apply and demonstrate how you sustain high expectations without compromise.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver one-hour life skills workshops for K–8 learners by preparing materials and executing activities with precise adherence to playbooks
  • Conduct structured motivation sessions designed to accelerate student advancement in academic applications and goal attainment
  • Observe Guides during instruction and provide standards-aligned coaching that includes explicit improvement actions and accountability for follow-up
  • Apply objective, metrics-based judgment to maintain mastery standards, even in challenging circumstances
  • Coordinate daily with campus personnel to ensure reliable execution of Alpha's 3 Promises

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver or tutor academic subject matter using traditional classroom instruction methods
  • Develop lesson plans or design new curriculum
  • Deviate from established playbooks or improvise workshop content
  • Adjust mastery benchmarks downward or compromise goals to create artificial indicators of success
  • Manage from behind administrative tasks while others engage directly with students

Key responsibilities

Ensure that every K–8 student at Alpha's Dorado campus reliably experiences Alpha's 3 Promises: they love school, learn 2× faster, and build life skills.

Candidate requirements

  • Authorization to work in Puerto Rico
  • Availability to work full-time on-site at the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of relevant experience coaching individuals to ambitious outcomes
  • Background working with children ages 5–14 in coaching, motivation, or youth development contexts
  • Proven experience coaching or leading adult performance with defined standards and accountability structures
  • Strong verbal communication skills tailored for K–8 audiences
  • Data-driven decision-making capability (leveraging metrics and analytics to inform direction and maintain standards)
  • High-standards orientation with confidence delivering direct feedback and sustaining goals without compromise
