Leadership Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • On-site position based in Dorado, Puerto Rico
  • Annual salary of 150,000 USD, distributed weekly

If conventional schooling no longer challenges you and you will not compromise excellence for comfort, this opportunity offers something distinct. You will guide students and adults toward ambitious goals using metrics and explicit standards—not traditional lectures or curriculum materials.

Alpha School is creating an AI-driven educational framework in which students complete core academics in two hours daily, dedicating their afternoons to cultivating practical life competencies. Our commitment is straightforward and exacting: students enjoy school, accelerate learning at twice the typical rate, and develop essential life skills. This position ensures that commitment becomes reality for every K–8 student at our Dorado location.

You will remain directly involved. You will deliver one-hour life skills sessions, facilitate structured motivational meetings that propel students through academic applications, and provide Guides with specific feedback and actionable growth steps. This is neither a conventional teaching position nor a hands-off leadership role. You will own outcomes, adherence to established protocols, and unrelenting standards.

If you are ready to lead by example and establish a campus culture built on earned results, submit your application and demonstrate how you maintain high expectations without compromise.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver one-hour life skills sessions for K–8 students by preparing materials and executing activities precisely according to established playbooks
  • Conduct structured motivational meetings designed to drive student progress in academic applications and goal attainment
  • Monitor Guides during instruction and provide standards-based coaching that includes specific improvement actions and accountability
  • Apply objective, metrics-informed judgment to maintain mastery standards, even in difficult circumstances
  • Work closely with on-site staff daily to guarantee consistent fulfillment of Alpha's 3 Promises

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver or tutor academic subjects using traditional classroom methods
  • Create lesson plans or develop new curriculum materials
  • Deviate from established playbooks or improvise workshop content
  • Compromise mastery standards or adjust goals downward to create artificial success
  • Operate remotely from a desk through administrative tasks while others engage directly with students

Key responsibilities

Ensure that each K–8 student at Alpha's Dorado campus reliably experiences Alpha's 3 Promises: they love school, learn 2× faster, and build life skills.

Candidate requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in Puerto Rico
  • Capacity to work full-time on-site at the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of applicable experience coaching individuals toward ambitious results
  • Background working with children ages 5–14 in coaching, motivational, or youth development contexts
  • Experience coaching or directing adult performance using defined standards and accountability frameworks
  • Effective verbal communication skills appropriate for K–8 student audiences
  • Data-driven decision-making capability (leveraging metrics and analytics to establish direction and enforce standards)
  • High-standards orientation with confidence delivering direct feedback and maintaining goals without compromise
