Description

  • Onsite position in Dorado, Puerto Rico
  • Weekly salary payments at 150,000 USD annually

If conventional schooling no longer challenges you and you will not compromise high standards for comfort, this position offers something distinct. You will guide children and adults toward ambitious results through objective metrics and explicit benchmarks, not traditional instruction and curriculum.

Alpha School is constructing an AI-enhanced model in which students complete foundational academics in two hours per day, dedicating afternoons to developing practical life competencies. Our commitment is straightforward and rigorous: students enjoy school, progress at twice the rate of peers, and cultivate life skills. This position ensures that commitment becomes reality for every K–8 student at our Dorado location.

You will remain operationally engaged. You will deliver one-hour life skills sessions, facilitate structured goal-setting meetings that advance students through academic applications, and coach Guides through direct observation, specific feedback, and actionable next steps. This is neither conventional teaching nor desk-based oversight. You will own outcomes, adherence to playbooks, and unrelenting standards.

If you want to model excellence and establish a campus culture where performance is earned, not assumed, apply and demonstrate how you uphold rigor without compromise.

What you will be doing

  • Execute one-hour life skills sessions for K–8 students by preparing materials and following playbooks exactly as designed
  • Lead structured goal-alignment sessions that motivate students to progress in academic apps and achieve targets
  • Observe Guides during instruction and provide standards-driven coaching with explicit action steps and accountability
  • Apply objective, metrics-based judgment to maintain mastery thresholds, even when pressure exists to lower them
  • Work directly with campus staff daily to ensure reliable execution of Alpha's 3 Promises

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver or tutor academic subjects using traditional classroom methods
  • Develop lesson plans or design new curriculum
  • Deviate from structured playbooks or improvise session content
  • Reduce mastery expectations or adjust goals to create artificial success
  • Operate remotely from an administrative role while others engage directly with students

Key responsibilities

Ensure that every K–8 student at Alpha's Dorado campus reliably experiences Alpha's 3 Promises: they love school, learn 2× faster, and build life skills.

Candidate requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in Puerto Rico
  • Capacity to work full-time on-site at the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of applicable experience coaching individuals to ambitious outcomes
  • Experience engaging with children ages 5–14 in coaching, motivation, or youth development contexts
  • Experience coaching or managing adult performance using clear standards and accountability structures
  • Strong verbal communication ability tailored to K–8 audiences
  • Data-driven decision-making capability (leveraging metrics and analytics to guide actions and enforce standards)
  • High-standards orientation with confidence delivering direct feedback and sustaining expectations without compromise
