Description

  • On-site position in Dorado, Puerto Rico
  • $150,000 annual salary, disbursed weekly

If conventional school systems no longer challenge you and you are unwilling to compromise rigor for comfort, this position offers a distinct path. You will guide students and adults toward ambitious goals through data, objective benchmarks, and direct coaching—not through lectures or traditional lesson structures.

Alpha School operates an AI-driven educational model in which students complete their core academics in two hours per day, then dedicate their afternoons to developing practical, real-world competencies. Our commitment is both straightforward and rigorous: students enjoy school, progress at twice the pace of their peers, and acquire life skills. This role ensures that commitment is fulfilled for every K–8 student on the Dorado campus.

You will remain directly engaged with the work. You will deliver structured one-hour life skills workshops, conduct focused motivation sessions that advance students through academic applications, and provide Guides with concrete, actionable coaching. This is neither a traditional instructor position nor a detached leadership function. You will own outcomes, maintain fidelity to established protocols, and uphold unwavering standards.

If you are ready to lead by example and cultivate a campus culture grounded in earned achievement, submit your application and demonstrate how you sustain high expectations without exception.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver one-hour life skills workshops to K–8 students by preparing and executing activities in strict accordance with established playbooks
  • Conduct structured motivation sessions designed to drive students forward in academic apps and achieve defined targets
  • Observe Guides during implementation and provide standards-based coaching with explicit improvement actions and accountability for follow-through
  • Apply objective, data-informed judgment to maintain mastery standards, even in challenging circumstances
  • Work closely with campus staff daily to guarantee consistent fulfillment of Alpha's 3 Promises

What you will NOT be doing

  • Instruct or tutor academic subjects using traditional classroom methods
  • Develop lesson plans or create curriculum materials
  • Deviate from established playbooks or improvise workshop content
  • Compromise mastery standards or adjust goals downward to simulate achievement
  • Manage from behind a desk through administrative tasks while others engage directly with students

Key responsibilities

Ensure that every K–8 student at Alpha's Dorado campus reliably experiences Alpha's 3 Promises: they love school, learn 2× faster, and build life skills.

Candidate requirements

  • Authorized to work in Puerto Rico
  • Available to work full-time on-site at the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of relevant experience coaching individuals toward ambitious outcomes
  • Experience working with children ages 5–14 in coaching, motivation, or youth development contexts
  • Experience coaching or directing adult performance with defined standards and accountability
  • Strong verbal communication skills appropriate for K–8 audiences
  • Data-driven decision-making capability (leveraging metrics and analytics to establish direction and maintain standards)
  • High-standards orientation with confidence delivering direct feedback and upholding goals without compromise
