eSports Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • On-site position in Dorado, Puerto Rico
  • $150,000 annual salary, distributed weekly

If traditional education no longer challenges you and you resist compromising standards to avoid conflict, this opportunity will stand apart. You will guide children and adults toward high-impact goals using objective data and explicit benchmarks—not conventional lectures or academic curricula.

Alpha School is developing an AI-enabled framework in which students complete essential academics in only two hours daily, then dedicate their afternoons to cultivating practical life competencies. Our commitment is both straightforward and rigorous: students enjoy learning, progress at twice the rate of their peers, and acquire real-world capabilities. This position ensures that commitment is fulfilled for every K–8 learner at our Dorado site.

You will remain operationally engaged. You will deliver one-hour life skills sessions, facilitate structured goal-setting meetings that accelerate student progress in academic platforms, and mentor Guides through specific feedback paired with actionable development steps. This is neither a conventional classroom role nor a passive supervisory position. You will own outcomes, adherence to operational playbooks, and relentless quality standards.

If you are ready to lead by example and cultivate a campus environment where performance is earned through discipline, submit your application and demonstrate your approach to maintaining excellence without compromise.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver one-hour life skills sessions for K–8 learners by preparing and executing activities in strict accordance with established playbooks
  • Conduct structured goal-setting sessions that motivate students to make measurable progress in academic applications
  • Monitor Guide performance in real time and provide standards-aligned coaching with specific improvement directives and accountability
  • Apply objective, metrics-based judgment to maintain mastery benchmarks, even when decisions are difficult
  • Partner daily with on-campus personnel to guarantee reliable execution of Alpha's 3 Promises

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver or support academic instruction using traditional classroom methods
  • Develop lesson plans or design original curriculum materials
  • Adapt or deviate from prescribed workshop protocols
  • Adjust mastery thresholds or reduce expectations to create artificial progress
  • Manage from behind a desk through administrative tasks while others engage directly with learners

Key responsibilities

Ensure every K–8 student at Alpha's Dorado campus reliably experiences Alpha's 3 Promises: they love school, learn 2× faster, and build life skills.

Candidate requirements

  • Work authorization for Puerto Rico
  • Capacity to work full-time on-site at the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of applicable experience coaching individuals to high-impact outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience working with children ages 5–14 in coaching, motivational, or youth development contexts
  • Proven track record coaching or managing adult performance using explicit standards and accountability frameworks
  • Excellent verbal communication skills tailored to K–8 learners
  • Proficiency in data-driven decision-making (leveraging metrics and analytics to guide strategy and enforce standards)
  • High-performance orientation with confidence delivering candid feedback and sustaining goals without concession
