Description

  • Onsite position in Dorado, Puerto Rico
  • $150,000 annual salary, distributed weekly

If traditional school models feel limiting and you believe high expectations should never be compromised for comfort, this position offers a different path. You will coach students and adults toward ambitious goals using objective data and explicit standards—not conventional lectures or lesson planning.

Alpha School is developing an AI-driven educational framework in which students complete core academics in two hours daily, dedicating their afternoons to cultivating real-world competencies. Our commitment is both straightforward and rigorous: students enjoy school, progress at twice the speed of their peers, and develop essential life skills. This role ensures that commitment is delivered consistently to every K–8 student at our Dorado campus.

You will remain operationally engaged. You will facilitate one-hour life skills sessions, lead structured motivational activities that advance students through academic applications, and provide Guides with direct, actionable coaching. This is neither a conventional teaching position nor a removed management role. You will be held accountable for measurable results, adherence to operational playbooks, and unwavering performance standards.

If you are prepared to lead by example and establish a campus culture grounded in earned achievement, submit your application and demonstrate how you maintain rigorous standards without exception.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver one-hour life skills sessions to K–8 students by preparing materials and executing activities precisely according to playbooks
  • Lead structured motivational sessions designed to drive student progress in academic applications and goal attainment
  • Conduct live observations of Guides and provide standards-aligned coaching with specific improvement directives and accountability for execution
  • Apply objective, metrics-based judgment to maintain mastery thresholds, even in challenging circumstances
  • Work closely with on-campus personnel to ensure reliable execution of Alpha's 3 Promises

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver or tutor academic instruction using traditional classroom methods
  • Develop lesson plans or design original curriculum
  • Deviate from established playbooks or improvise workshop content
  • Compromise mastery criteria or adjust targets to create artificial success
  • Manage remotely through administrative tasks while others engage directly with students

Key responsibilities

Ensure that every K–8 student at Alpha's Dorado campus reliably receives Alpha's 3 Promises: they love school, learn 2× faster, and build life skills.

Candidate requirements

  • Work authorization for Puerto Rico
  • Capacity to work full-time onsite at the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus

  • Background working with children ages 5–14 in coaching, motivational, or youth development contexts
  • Proven experience coaching or directing adult performance using explicit standards and accountability mechanisms
  • Effective verbal communication skills tailored to K–8 audiences
  • Proficiency in data-driven decision-making (leveraging metrics and analytics to guide strategy and enforce standards)
  • High-expectations orientation with comfort delivering direct feedback and sustaining goals without concession
