Description

  • On-site position in Dorado, Puerto Rico
  • Weekly pay at 150,000 USD annual salary

If conventional schooling no longer challenges you and you reject compromising standards to avoid conflict, this opportunity will stand apart. You will guide children and adults toward ambitious results through data and explicit benchmarks—not traditional lectures or lesson plans.

Alpha School is creating an AI-driven educational model in which students complete core academics in only two hours per day, devoting their afternoons to developing practical life skills. Our commitment is straightforward and rigorous: students enjoy school, accelerate learning at twice the rate of peers, and cultivate essential life competencies. This position ensures that commitment becomes reality for every K–8 student at our Dorado campus.

You will remain directly engaged. You will deliver one-hour life skills workshops, conduct structured motivation sessions that propel students through academic applications, and provide Guides with actionable feedback and specific improvement steps. This is neither a conventional teaching position nor a hands-off management role. You will own outcomes, adherence to operational playbooks, and uncompromising quality standards.

If you are ready to lead by example and establish a campus culture founded on earned achievement, submit your application and demonstrate how you uphold excellence without exception.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver one-hour life skills workshops to K–8 students by preparing materials and executing activities in strict accordance with playbooks
  • Conduct structured motivation sessions designed to drive students toward progress in academic applications and goal attainment
  • Observe Guides during instruction and provide standards-based coaching that includes explicit improvement actions and accountability
  • Apply objective, metrics-informed judgment to maintain mastery standards, even in challenging circumstances
  • Work closely with campus personnel daily to guarantee consistent fulfillment of Alpha's 3 Promises

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver or tutor academic content through traditional classroom instruction
  • Create lesson plans or develop curriculum materials
  • Deviate from established playbooks or improvise workshop content
  • Compromise mastery standards or adjust goals downward to create artificial "success"
  • Manage from behind a desk with administrative tasks while others engage directly with students

Key responsibilities

Ensure every K–8 student at Alpha's Dorado campus reliably experiences Alpha's 3 Promises: they love school, learn 2× faster, and build life skills.

Candidate requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in Puerto Rico
  • Capacity to work full-time on-site at the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of applicable experience coaching individuals toward ambitious outcomes
  • Background working with children ages 5–14 in coaching, motivation, or youth development contexts
  • Track record coaching or managing adult performance using clear standards and accountability mechanisms
  • Excellent verbal communication skills tailored to K–8 audiences
  • Capability for data-driven decision-making (leveraging metrics and analytics to establish direction and maintain standards)
  • High-standards orientation with confidence delivering direct feedback and sustaining goals without compromise
