Alpha School is creating an AI-enhanced model in which students complete core academics in only two hours daily, dedicating afternoons to developing practical life skills. Our commitment is straightforward and rigorous: students enjoy school, achieve learning gains at twice the rate of their peers, and cultivate life skills. This position ensures that commitment is fulfilled for every K–8 student at our Dorado location.
You will remain actively engaged. You will deliver one-hour life skills workshops, facilitate structured motivation sessions that advance students through academic applications, and provide Guides with direct coaching and specific action steps for improvement. This is neither a conventional teaching position nor a hands-off leadership assignment. You will be held accountable for outcomes, adherence to established protocols, and maintaining exacting standards.

What you will be doing
- Deliver one-hour life skills workshops to K–8 students through preparation and execution aligned precisely with established playbooks
- Conduct structured motivation sessions designed to drive student progress in academic applications and goal attainment
- Observe Guides during implementation and provide standards-based coaching with defined improvement actions and accountability for follow-through
- Apply objective, metrics-driven judgment to maintain mastery standards, even in challenging circumstances
- Work daily alongside campus staff to ensure consistent execution of Alpha's 3 Promises
What you will NOT be doing
- Provide traditional classroom instruction or academic tutoring
- Develop lesson plans or design educational curriculum
- Deviate from established playbooks or improvise workshop content
- Compromise mastery standards or adjust goals downward to create artificial success metrics
- Operate remotely from administrative duties while delegating direct student engagement to others
Key responsibilities
Ensure that every K–8 student at Alpha's Dorado campus reliably experiences Alpha's 3 Promises: they love school, learn 2× faster, and build life skills.
Candidate requirements
- Work authorization for Puerto Rico
- Capacity to work full-time on-site at the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of applicable experience coaching individuals to ambitious outcomes
- Background working with children ages 5–14 in coaching, motivation, or youth development contexts
- Track record coaching or directing adult performance with defined standards and accountability
- Strong verbal communication capabilities for K–8 audiences
- Data-driven decision-making proficiency (leveraging metrics and analytics to establish direction and maintain standards)
- High-standards orientation with confidence delivering direct feedback and sustaining goals without compromise
