Elite Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • On-site position in Dorado, Puerto Rico
  • $150,000 annual salary, disbursed weekly

This role is designed for individuals who have moved beyond conventional schooling and are unwilling to compromise high expectations for comfort. You will guide students and adults toward challenging goals through data and defined benchmarks—not through lectures or traditional lesson planning.

Alpha School is developing an AI-driven educational framework in which students complete core academic work in two hours daily, dedicating their afternoons to practical life skills development. Our commitment is straightforward and rigorous: students enjoy school, achieve learning outcomes at twice the rate of their peers, and cultivate essential life capabilities. Your responsibility is to ensure this commitment is fulfilled for every K–8 student at our Dorado location.

You will remain directly engaged. You will deliver one-hour life skills workshops, facilitate structured sessions that drive academic app progression, and provide Guides with specific, actionable coaching. This is neither a conventional teaching position nor a hands-off management role. You will be held accountable for measurable results, adherence to operational playbooks, and unrelenting quality standards.

If you are prepared to lead by example and establish a campus culture where achievement is earned through consistent effort, submit your application and demonstrate how you maintain rigorous standards without compromise.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver one-hour life skills workshops for K–8 students by preparing materials and executing sessions in strict accordance with playbooks
  • Conduct structured motivation sessions designed to drive student progress in academic applications and goal attainment
  • Monitor Guide performance in real time and provide standards-aligned coaching with explicit improvement directives and accountability
  • Apply objective, metrics-based judgment to maintain mastery standards, even in challenging circumstances
  • Engage daily with campus personnel to ensure consistent execution of Alpha's 3 Promises

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver or tutor academic subjects using traditional classroom instruction
  • Develop lesson plans or create new curriculum
  • Deviate from established playbooks or improvise workshop content
  • Compromise mastery benchmarks or adjust goals to artificially demonstrate progress
  • Operate remotely from administrative tasks while others engage directly with students

Key responsibilities

Ensure every K–8 student at Alpha's Dorado campus reliably experiences Alpha's 3 Promises: they love school, learn at twice the speed of their peers, and develop life skills.

Candidate requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in Puerto Rico
  • Capacity to work full-time on-site at the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of relevant experience coaching individuals to achieve ambitious objectives
  • Demonstrated experience working with children aged 5–14 in coaching, motivation, or youth development contexts
  • Proven track record coaching or leading adult performance with defined standards and accountability mechanisms
  • Effective verbal communication skills tailored to K–8 audiences
  • Proficiency in data-driven decision-making (leveraging metrics and analytics to inform direction and maintain standards)
  • High-standards orientation with confidence delivering direct feedback and sustaining goals without compromise
