Private Client Director   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most admissions positions focus on volume. This position focuses on protecting quality.

Alpha is constructing one of the world's most ambitious educational models. Our campuses integrate demanding academics, technology-enhanced instruction, and elevated expectations for both students and faculty. Students routinely demonstrate learning velocity that exceeds national norms, supported by measurable data. Afternoons are structured for deeper exploration, independent work, and applied skill development. The model delivers results. But it requires the right family partnerships.

This is your entry point.

You will lead the complete enrollment process for a campus, beginning with initial inquiry and extending through onboarding. This is not a role with handoffs. You own how families perceive us, how thoroughly they grasp the model, and whether enrollment choices reflect genuine alignment. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate meaningful dialogue, and advise against enrollment when appropriate. Maximum headcount is not the objective. Mutual fit is the objective.

We welcome applicants from premium service sectors outside conventional education: selective independent schools, competitive programs, high-end hospitality, executive assistance, exclusive membership organizations, or entrepreneurial operators who have directly managed sophisticated client experiences from beginning to end. What counts is your capacity to execute a personalized, phased process with discernment, transparency, and accountability.

If your career has centered on delivering elevated service where credibility, confidentiality, and experience integrity define reputation, this role will translate naturally—just directed toward work that produces measurable impact.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-site position. We are recruiting in Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Piedmont, Palm Beach, Charlotte, and Raleigh. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Leading the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, from initial outreach through onboarding completion.
  • Facilitating discovery conversations to evaluate alignment before offering recommendations or outlining pathways forward.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family engagements across varying stages of enrollment, maintaining clear tracking and timely follow-up.
  • Directing campus visits, student shadow days, and decision-oriented meetings that transparently convey results, standards, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Sustaining precise CRM documentation and enrollment data (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, priority setting, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Applying transactional methods or aggressive closing strategies.
  • Accepting families with poor alignment solely to meet enrollment targets.
  • Overseeing large teams or navigating multi-layered organizational approvals.
  • Distributing responsibility for the family journey across multiple roles.
  • Operating remotely. This position is campus-based by intention.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a high-integrity, selective enrollment process that secures aligned families while safeguarding the standards and outcomes of the Alpha educational model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where service excellence directly shapes brand perception (education, luxury hospitality, executive support, premium membership, or owner-operated client services).
  • Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment lifecycle from initial contact through successful onboarding.
  • Experience managing 20+ simultaneous client, guest, or family relationships at varying stages, supported by a reliable tracking and prioritization methodology.
  • Capacity to offer specific examples of advisory decision-making, including instances where you counseled against your offering when fit was absent.
  • Professional written correspondence experience with senior leaders, high-net-worth clients, or discerning audiences.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these locations: Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; San Francisco, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; Palm Beach, FL; Charlotte, NC; or Raleigh, NC.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in competitive independent school admissions or selective program intake.
  • Background in luxury hospitality, VIP client services, or executive support capacities.
  • Experience developing or optimizing enrollment workflows, service protocols, or operational standards.
  • Proficiency leveraging data and CRM analytics to enhance enrollment quality, not merely throughput.
