Private Client Director   $200,000 USD/year

Description

In most enrollment roles, the objective is throughput. Here, the objective is standards.

Alpha is constructing a school model of exceptional ambition. Its campuses integrate demanding academics, technology-driven instruction, and elevated expectations for both learners and educators. Students advance at rates that exceed national norms—measurably. Afternoons shift toward depth work, autonomy, and preparation for real application. The model succeeds. But only when paired with the right families.

This is your responsibility.

You will manage the complete enrollment cycle for a campus—from initial inquiry to final onboarding. This is not a relay role. You are accountable for how families perceive us, how thoroughly they understand the model, and whether enrollment decisions reflect genuine alignment. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate informed dialogue, and recommend declining when appropriate. The objective is not volume maximization. The objective is mutual fit.

We welcome candidates from high-service contexts outside conventional education: independent schools, competitive programs, luxury service, executive assistance, premium membership platforms, or entrepreneurial operators who have directly overseen high-stakes client experiences from beginning to end. What counts is your capacity to execute a sophisticated, multi-phase engagement with discernment, clarity, and consistency.

If your career has been defined by delivering exceptional service where trust, confidentiality, and experience integrity shape the brand, this role will translate naturally—just toward outcomes that genuinely matter.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-campus position. We are currently hiring in La Jolla, Los Angeles, Marin County, Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, and South Bay. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the complete enrollment process for prospective families, from initial outreach through final integration.
  • Facilitating exploratory conversations to establish fit before advancing solutions or identifying next actions.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family engagements across varying enrollment phases, maintaining clear tracking and timely follow-through.
  • Guiding campus visits, observation days, and enrollment discussions that articulate outcomes, standards, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Sustaining precise CRM and enrollment documentation (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, prioritization, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deploying transactional or coercive enrollment methods.
  • Accepting families without alignment solely to satisfy enrollment targets.
  • Overseeing a substantial team or operating within multi-tiered approval structures.
  • Distributing family experience ownership across multiple stakeholders.
  • Operating remotely. This position is intentionally campus-based.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a high-integrity, selective enrollment process that attracts aligned families and safeguards the performance and standards of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where quality of experience directly influences brand standing (education, luxury service industries, executive assistance, premium membership, or owner-led enterprises).
  • Proven responsibility for a full-cycle client, admissions, or enrollment process from initial engagement through integration.
  • Experience coordinating 20+ client, guest, or family interactions concurrently across multiple stages, supported by an organized tracking method.
  • Capacity to offer specific instances of advisory decision-making, including advising against enrollment or service when alignment was absent.
  • Professional correspondence experience with C-level executives, high-net-worth clients, or discerning stakeholders.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these locations: La Jolla, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Marin County, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; San Francisco, CA; Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; or South Bay, CA.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Background in competitive private school admissions or selective program recruitment.
  • History in luxury hospitality, VIP client services, or senior executive support functions.
  • Experience developing or refining enrollment workflows, operational standards, or service protocols.
  • Proficiency leveraging data and CRM tools to enhance enrollment alignment, not merely velocity.
