Admissions Counselor   $40,000 USD/year

Description

Success in this role depends on your ability to establish trust with parents within the first moments of a conversation. This is a position for individuals who are motivated by outreach, disciplined in follow-up, and capable of presenting a new learning model without depending on scripted language. If you tend to avoid phone-based communication or prefer positions that lack measurable performance indicators, this opportunity will not align with your strengths.

Nova Academy operates as a virtual, tuition-free public charter school that serves students through a distinctive educational model. Students work through core academic content during a concentrated time block supported by AI technology, then dedicate the remainder of their day to building practical skills via projects and enrichment activities. You will serve as the primary contact for families evaluating this alternative.

Your weekly responsibilities will include responding promptly to incoming inquiries, supporting families as they navigate the admissions pathway, and advancing them from curiosity to completed enrollment. You will also attend local events on behalf of Nova Academy to attract new prospects and increase visibility in the community. During slower enrollment periods, you will assist with school operations while remaining prepared for the next admissions cycle.

If you are looking for a position where your communication skills, consistency, and accountability directly influence student enrollment outcomes, we encourage you to apply.

What you will be doing

  • Reaching out to new inbound leads within a 24-hour window and beginning admissions discussions via phone
  • Presenting Nova Academy's virtual educational structure and enrollment procedures in straightforward, accessible terms
  • Maintaining steady follow-up to advance families from initial inquiry through application and into enrollment
  • Recording all communications in a CRM system with precise notes, planned actions, and pipeline status
  • Planning and facilitating local recruitment events in Texas or Arizona to introduce the school and collect new prospect information

What you will NOT be doing

  • Allowing incoming leads to remain unaddressed while completing administrative tasks
  • Relying on inflexible scripts or functioning like a high-throughput call center
  • Participating in events without actively engaging in presentations or lead generation
  • Dedicating most of your time to internal office tasks during periods of active enrollment activity

Key responsibilities

Transform family interest into qualified, well-informed applicants who successfully enroll in Nova Academy.

Candidate requirements

  • Located in Texas or Arizona with the ability to work in a hybrid capacity
  • 1–2 years of experience in customer service or a similar customer-facing position
  • Background working with children or families (such as schools, camps, childcare, tutoring, or comparable settings)
  • Comfortable conducting frequent phone conversations and supporting families through processes with multiple steps
  • Effective verbal communication abilities with the capacity to establish trust rapidly
  • Experience using CRM platforms or digital lead management systems

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in admissions, enrollment, inside sales, or lead qualification functions
  • Background organizing or delivering presentations at community events or outreach initiatives
  • Academic coursework or professional background in communications, education, or a related discipline
