Director of AI Product Management   $400,000 USD/year

Description

Are you a technically rigorous product leader who seeks to pioneer the future of AI-driven education? 2 Hour Learning is seeking a technical architect to spearhead the evolution of our AI-powered learning platform. This position demands someone with the technical depth to function as a CTO, the strategic vision to catalyze transformational impact, and the drive to deploy those capabilities toward unlocking student achievement at scale never before seen.

Many organizations treat AI as a superficial addition to conventional education frameworks. At 2 Hour Learning, we have taken a fundamentally different approach: we have reconstructed the school experience from first principles, leveraging AI and learning science to eliminate the limitations inherent in traditional classrooms. Our students do not merely advance — they excel, earning multiple 4s and 5s on AP exams, demonstrating years of academic progress within a single year, and routinely surpassing their own projected outcomes. We have validated that when AI serves as the foundational operating system for learning, student performance soars.

This is not a conventional product management position centered on user feedback cycles or gradual feature rollout. This is an executive-level technical product ownership role, where you will control the architecture, technical roadmap, and AI integration across our entire learning infrastructure. You will be accountable for the critical technical trade-offs that keep our products lean, scalable, and laser-focused on elevating student results. You will think with the discipline of a CTO but execute with the agility of a product entrepreneur, fusing engineering rigor with learning science principles to deliver continuous innovation.

If you are prepared to lead the technical transformation of education and possess the operational tenacity to realize that vision, we invite you to apply. This is your chance to shape the future of learning.

What you will be doing

  • Building and applying comprehensive education product expertise to inform strategic direction
  • Authoring technical specifications that resolve critical technical decisions and emphasize simplicity, efficiency, and sustainable design
  • Deploying generative AI solutions to automate and optimize engineering workflows, supporting the overarching goal of minimizing manual intervention

What you will NOT be doing

  • Pure people management; this role centers on your business insight and technical mastery
  • Spending time on meetings, committees, or administrative overhead; we have streamlined management layers so you can concentrate on delivering tangible business impact through direct, hands-on contribution
  • Abstract strategies divorced from execution; your guidance must be grounded in product-level detail

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the CTO for one or more education products, taking ownership of foundational capabilities and generating business value through flawless execution and strategic leadership

Candidate requirements

  • Substantial experience or demonstrated interest in data-driven learning science
  • 7+ years of experience leading critical architecture and design decisions on software projects, including the application of architecture design patterns or major open source technologies
  • 2+ years of experience making design decisions involving cloud computing services (primarily AWS)
  • 4+ years of experience in roles with complete technical and delivery accountability for a revenue-generating product
  • Experience developing product features that leverage advanced use of Generative AI
  • Experience applying Generative AI to streamline work processes
