Description

You're an enterprise account manager tired of functioning as a courteous renewal administrator. You understand how to maintain major accounts satisfied, ensure contracts remain sound, and sustain revenue flow—without requiring a team of CSMs, solution engineers, and enablement personnel to support you. You're capable of speaking with a CMO about outcomes, with a content director about execution, and with compliance teams about risk. And you possess the ability to develop automation that genuinely transforms your workflow, not simply "I use ChatGPT."

Contently operates within the enterprise domain where errors carry significant costs: regulated content. Financial institutions, healthcare organizations, and prominent brands rely on us because brand safety, governance, and compliance are non-negotiable. The compelling aspect is that you won't be entering unfamiliar accounts. You'll be taking over an enterprise portfolio where trust is already established. Your responsibility is to convert that trust into sustained and expanding revenue by demonstrating ROI in terms the client understands, then scaling intelligently. Throughout this process, you'll contribute to defining what AI-powered account management will look like in 2026 at a content organization because that playbook doesn't exist yet.

This position means owning renewals like a deal-closer. It involves conducting QBRs that resonate with executives because you connect usage data to outcomes such as compliance risk reduction and brand authority. It requires proactively identifying expansion opportunities within the account and the broader market, then presenting proposals grounded in what the client is genuinely doing and what they genuinely need. It also means delivering automation on a quarterly basis that eliminates hours of repetitive AM work so your time can be redirected toward strategy, negotiation, and growth. If your understanding of "AI skills" is limited to writing better emails more quickly, you won't succeed in this role.

You'll join a lean team where accountability defines the culture and autonomy represents the benefit. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with product, support, finance, and marketing specialists when necessary, but you're the operator responsible for driving results. If you want a portfolio of genuine enterprise accounts, rapid feedback on your impact, and a role where building AI is a firm requirement, please apply. If you're seeking to learn how to become a better AI builder and expect to have time for ramping up, please don't apply (other opportunities at Crossover exist for that purpose).

What you will be doing

  • Account Renewals - Execute annual contract renewals on schedule, at or exceeding current ARR, with documented justification for retention
  • Customer Success Plans - Maintain a per-account success plan that documents client objectives, health indicators, renewal schedule, and expansion trajectory
  • AI Workflow Automation - Develop scripts or automation tools to manage routine tasks (data extraction for reports, status communications, QBR data preparation)

What you will NOT be doing

  • New logo acquisition or cold outreach
  • Building content marketing strategies for customers
  • Using AI tools only for help with writing or research

Key responsibilities

  • Retain and grow revenue across Contently's existing enterprise portfolio

Candidate requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience managing enterprise accounts valued at $200K+ ARR at software company
  • Experience using data (usage metrics, renewal history, platform engagement) to build business cases for executive buyers
  • Ability to build AI workflow automations
  • Willingness to work US work hours (EST time zone)
