SVP of Multi-Site Operations   $400,000 USD/year

Description

You've achieved operational excellence by consistently being the strongest operator in any setting. You understand how to manage a disciplined facility, resolve failures, and uphold standards through direct accountability. This position demands that you construct something more complex.

You'll oversee a VP team charged with sustaining 35+ premium campuses. Not through direct execution. Through the design of systems, establishment of quality thresholds, and cultivation of the people who implement them. Your success metric isn't personal output — it's whether the team achieves green status across every campus without requiring your intervention.

No existing playbook guides this work. You'll architect AI-first dashboards that identify issues before VPs must search for them, frameworks that make quality standards enforceable without continuous monitoring, and accountability architectures that allow VPs to manage 7+ campuses each without missing critical details. You'll recognize success when escalations disappear, audits return clean results, and the team operates independently of your presence.

The trajectory is defined. Year one focuses on construction — dashboards, playbooks, vendor performance trackers, quality standards built from the ground up. After systems are operational and VPs function autonomously, the role evolves: portfolio-level CapEx strategy, succession planning for the team, and optimization choices that elevate performance across all 35+ campuses simultaneously.

If you're prepared to lead the team that maintains premium standards across an expanding campus portfolio at scale, submit your application now.

What you will be doing

  • Overseeing, developing, and managing a VP team where each member owns sustain operations across 7+ campuses (standard) or 3+ campuses (large sites), supported by explicit performance metrics and consistent coaching
  • Architecting AI-first operational infrastructure — predictive maintenance dashboards, vendor performance trackers, and portfolio-wide playbooks — that empower VPs to manage their portfolios without escalating issues to you
  • Establishing measurable quality standards and SLAs for all facility metrics, then executing regular portfolio audits to enforce standards and address gaps before they impact students or staff
  • Executing portfolio-level resource allocation decisions: VP assignments, vendor strategy, and CapEx priorities in collaboration with business and finance stakeholders
  • Detecting and addressing VP performance challenges early via data-driven reviews and coaching, cultivating a team that achieves green status autonomously

What you will NOT be doing

  • Managing campus operations directly — your VPs execute on-the-ground work; your role centers on the systems and the team that produce results
  • Serving as the escalation point for every issue — properly designed systems and empowered VPs remove the "ask the SVP" bottlenecks that exhaust ops leaders at your level
  • Addressing problems one campus at a time — every framework, quality bar, and solution you create applies across all 35+ locations, not merely the immediate situation
  • Limiting your influence to a few sites — every system, standard, and accountability framework you establish here scales across 35+ campuses from the outset
  • Creating solutions from zero repeatedly — after playbooks are established, VPs execute them; you refine based on portfolio-wide data, not individual site emergencies

Key responsibilities

Oversee a VP team to sustain consistent quality standards across a 35+ campus portfolio through scalable systems and disciplined performance management.

Candidate requirements

  • Located in the United States, with legal authorization to work without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Prepared and able to travel 35–50% to U.S. campuses for team management, audits, and strategic oversight
  • Background in facilities, operations, or multi-site management including at least 3+ years leading a team of managers or VPs
  • Proven track record of constructing operational systems and frameworks that enabled a team to scale across 10+ locations
  • Experience establishing measurable quality standards and maintaining team accountability through data-driven performance management
  • Direct experience utilizing AI and automation tools (such as GPT, Airtable, Retool, or Zapier) to construct operational systems or manage team workflows
  • Experience overseeing CapEx budgets and executing resource allocation decisions across a multi-site portfolio

Nice to have

  • Experience in premium multi-site environments with exacting facility standards — luxury hospitality, UHNW residential management, flagship retail, or private K-12 education
  • Experience guiding a team through a build-to-operate transition: moving a portfolio from informal practices to systematized, scalable processes
  • Previous role as regional director of operations, director of facilities, or equivalent, with accountability for both team performance and system design across 10+ locations
