DevOps Engineer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Are you a DevOps engineer who sees beyond just keeping systems running? If transforming chaotic legacy infrastructure into seamless, automated operations excites you, then your next challenge awaits. We seek an AWS and DevOps guru to navigate high-demand environments where near-perfect uptime is a must. Dive into our portfolio of unique products, migrate them to a cohesive AWS environment, and build robust monitoring and automation systems that make downtime a rare occurrence.

Where most roles focus on a single stack, we need you to streamline and optimize multiple stacks without disrupting operations. While many isolate databases, we strategically consolidate them for efficiency and cost-effectiveness across our assets. This role isn’t about maintaining the status quo; it’s about reimagining fragmented systems and crafting superior solutions.

You'll oversee everything from infrastructure transitions to AI-enhanced automation, fine-tuning performance, migrating databases, and optimizing costs. This means diagnosing issues, executing seamless cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and leveraging AI/ML to automate tasks. You'll have the autonomy to make critical infrastructure decisions without bureaucratic delays.

If you excel at solving complex problems and ensuring seamless operations, this role is perfect for you. If you need constant guidance or prefer starting fresh over refining existing systems, you might struggle here. But if you're ready to take charge of a pivotal infrastructure role with opportunities to innovate and automate at scale, we want to hear from you!

What you will be doing

  • Strategizing and executing intricate infrastructure modifications, including transitions from legacy systems to AWS and lift-and-shift migrations.
  • Crafting and implementing comprehensive monitoring strategies and automating processes for monitoring, software deployments, and operational workflows.
  • Overseeing system monitoring, backups, incident response, database migrations, configurations, and cost optimization.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Spending your days in Jira and endless status meetings - we prioritize action-oriented problem-solving over mere problem tracking.
  • Managing outdated systems indefinitely - you'll be empowered to make impactful enhancements.
  • Getting bogged down by bureaucratic approval processes - you'll have the authority to implement immediate solutions to resolve issues.
  • Being confined to narrow technical specialties - this role demands both broad and deep expertise.
  • Struggling for budget to implement vital improvements - we recognize the necessity of investing in infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

  • Enhance reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure across our diverse product portfolio by establishing strong monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.

Candidate requirements

  • Extensive expertise in AWS infrastructure (this is our main platform - experience with other clouds isn't enough).
  • Proficient programming skills in Python or JavaScript for developing automation and tools.
  • Experience in managing and migrating production databases with various engines (such as MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL).
  • Advanced skills in Docker/Kubernetes.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation).
  • Expertise in Linux systems administration.
