Before/After School Coordinator, Alpha - an EDU Startup (Brownsville, United States) - $30,000/year USD

Job ID: 4850
Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is an in-person role located in Brownsville, Texas.

Do you love seeing kids smile and laugh while participating in fun activities you created? Are you an organized and responsible leader who can maintain a safe environment at school and implement school policies? If so, join us at Alpha's Brownsville campus to be a valued member of a school that's revolutionizing education.

Alpha is building the Stanford of K-12 education. We are a private equity-backed EdTech startup with a life-changing value proposition for students and plans to expand rapidly. We make three promises to students and their families: students will love school, students will learn 2x faster through the use of adaptive learning apps and learning science principles, and students will learn valuable life skills to supplement their academic training.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a fun and safe experience for students who arrive early and stay after school. This is a part-time role - with a morning and afternoon shift - where you will engage students with fun activities that you develop, ensure they enter and exit the school safely, and open and close the school.

Join us to see the transformative impact of Alpha Schools while having fun with our amazing students every day!

What you will be doing
  • Plan and organize a session-long plan of fun and engaging activities that K-8 students will do before and after school (i.e. art, music, physical education)
  • Monitor student safety. You will keep track of all students coming in and out of the building and ensure that they are participating in the activities and practicing safe choices. At the end of the day, you will ensure that students are leaving with the correct parent/guardian.
  • Opening and closing the school each day
What you will NOT be doing
  • Babysitting students who are bored. Our first promise is that students will love school and the before/after school programs are a key part of that.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe and engaging student experience outside of normal school hours
Candidate Requirements
  • Legal right to work in the US without visa sponsorship and willingness to live in Brownsville, TX

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
