IMPORTANT NOTE: This role is a part-time, in-person position based on our Brownsville, TX campus. This job requires a regular schedule of 20-25 hours per week and offers a pay rate of $40 per hour.

In this role, you will focus on overseeing and coordinating a diverse range of workshops, from scientific experiments to tumbling. Your mission will be to create a stimulating environment that balances fun with rigor, for a small group of kids from preschool - 8th grade.

What you will be doing

  • Working with Alpha's educational team to create and adapt workshop content to meet the needs of a growing afterschool program
  • Oversee after-school activities provided by third-party professionals, ranging from robotics to taekwondo, enabling personal development in a fun and interactive setting
  • Inspire and guide small groups of 10-25 students, fostering an inclusive, supportive environment that encourages exploration and growth

What you will NOT be doing

  • Babysitting or passively supervising kids; your role is to actively engage and respond to their needs 
  • Confining the group to rigid plans; being responsive and adaptable to the day's dynamics and student attendance will be crucial

Key responsibilities

Fostering the mastery of valuable life skills through educational after-school workshops, while providing a fun and satisfying learning experience to kids

Candidate requirements

  • Willing to work on-site at Alpha's Brownsville, TX, campus
  • Ability to work 3-7 pm, Monday to Friday during the school year
  • Availability during school breaks, including summer and winter breaks
  • Experience developing, planning, and executing workshops, group activities, or trainings, either in an educational or professional setting
  • Experience and willingness to work with early childhood learners (18 months - 4 years old), as well as school-aged kids (K-8th grade)
  • Legal right to work in the US without visa sponsorship
