Do you believe every child deserves to read at grade level (or above), but hate watching broken systems waste their potential?

At Alpha School, we're proving literacy breakthroughs don't require 6-hour school days. Our 2-Hour Learning model fuses AI-adaptive tools with expert instruction to accelerate reading gains. Your mission: design and deliver workshops that drive measurable phonics, fluency, and comprehension gains for early elementary students.

This isn't lesson-plan paperwork. It's data-driven instruction, tech collaboration, and building a reading program that works for thousands of students.

Dorado perks: Pristine beaches minutes away. Vibrant bilingual community and easy access to San Juan's cultural scene while maintaining small-town quality of life.

Lead learning. Love growing. Apply now.

What you will be doing

  • Delivering adaptive reading workshops building phonics, comprehension, and fluency skills
  • Designing personalized motivational sessions using gamified literacy milestones
  • Analyzing student progress data to refine instruction and surface actionable insights
  • Collaborating with engineers to evaluate and enhance AI literacy tools based on classroom results
  • Developing scalable, AI-enhanced content that enables early elementary students to achieve grade-level proficiency

What you will NOT be doing

  • Lecturing from the front of a classroom — students learn through self-guided AI apps, not passive instruction
  • Following a pre-packaged curriculum or scripted lesson plans — you design your own workshops from scratch
  • Teaching academic subjects — your focus is reading workshops and motivational coaching, not math or science delivery
  • Babysitting or crowd control — every session has a clear learning objective and measurable outcome
  • Working in isolation — you collaborate directly with engineers building the AI tools your students use daily

Key responsibilities

Ensure every K-2 student in your cohort reads at or above grade level through AI-accelerated workshops that make phonics learning engaging, measurable, and fun

  • Bachelor's degree with either a Master's in reading instruction OR structured literacy certification (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, IMSE, CERI, LETRS, Neuhaus, UFLI, or equivalent)
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (required for student and family engagement)
  • 2+ years delivering small-group reading interventions to early elementary students
  • Skilled at assessing reading levels, grouping students, and designing differentiated instruction without pre-written curricula
