VP of Campus Operations   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Every campus runs on trust. This role makes sure that trust is earned, protected, and consistent everywhere.

You are the national owner of campus operations. Not in theory. In practice. You’ll lead, develop, and hold accountable a network of 30+ Campus Coordinators and Lead Campus Coordinators who serve as the operational heartbeat and front door of each school. When something breaks, drifts, or creates risk at the site level, it lands with you.

This role exists because excellence at one campus isn’t enough. Families expect the same level of safety, hospitality, professionalism, and responsiveness everywhere. You’ll build the policies, playbooks, and management systems that make that possible. You’ll identify gaps, fix ambiguity, and standardize how campuses operate without stripping teams of judgment or warmth.

If you’ve ever looked at a distributed team and thought, “This works… but it could be far more consistent, far more scalable, and far more professional,” this is your job.

What you will be doing

  • Lead the Campus Coordinator function nationally, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and terminations when needed
  • Own and standardize all campus-level operational policies, from safety and compliance to family experience and front-of-house execution
  • Partner with Campus Coordinators and Lead CCs to identify policy gaps, recurring issues, and execution drift, then fix them at the system level
  • Build clear playbooks, SOPs, and training materials that translate expectations into daily behavior on campus
  • Establish performance standards, review cadence, and escalation paths so issues are solved quickly and consistently
  • Audit campus operations regularly to ensure policies are understood, followed, and improving outcomes for families and staff

What you will NOT be doing

  • Running a single campus day to day
  • Managing facilities upgrades or construction projects as your core focus
  • Writing policies that live in a doc but don’t show up in behavior
  • Acting as a passive HR intermediary instead of a direct people leader
  • Accepting “that’s just how this campus does it” as an answer

Key responsibilities

Ensure every campus operates with consistent, high-quality execution by leading the Campus Coordinator function, owning operational policy, and holding teams accountable to clear standards.

Candidate requirements

  • 7+ years in operations leadership, people management, or multi-site environments where consistency and execution matter
  • Proven experience hiring, coaching, and performance-managing front-line operational leaders at scale
  • Strong judgment around safety, compliance, customer experience, and risk management
  • Demonstrated ability to identify policy gaps and turn ambiguity into clear, usable standards
  • Comfortable delivering direct feedback and making hard calls when performance falls short
  • Ability to travel up to 50% across U.S. campuses
  • Based in the U.S. and authorized to work without sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Experience in education, hospitality, healthcare, or other high-trust, people-facing environments
  • Background building centralized training, playbooks, or operational standards for distributed teams
  • Experience managing managers (player-coach to leader-of-leaders transition)
