Solutions Architect   $100,000 USD/year

Description

You're a DevOps engineer who prioritizes prevention over reaction. If you're drawn to dissecting convoluted legacy infrastructure, architecting efficient replacements, and eliminating manual processes through automation, this opportunity is designed for you. We need a DevOps and AWS infrastructure specialist who excels under pressure, where 99.9% uptime is the baseline expectation. Your work will span a portfolio of acquired products—each with distinct characteristics—as you migrate them into a unified, scalable AWS environment while implementing monitoring and automation that meaningfully reduces incident frequency.

While most organizations ask you to maintain one stack, we're asking you to consolidate and refine several without disruption. Where others separate databases, our approach involves strategic consolidation to enhance cost efficiency and management simplicity across our portfolio. This position isn't suited for those content with infrastructure maintenance; it's built for someone who encounters fragmented, inconsistent environments and instinctively begins architecting improvements.

Your ownership will extend from infrastructure migrations through AI-powered automation, performance optimization, database transitions, and cost management. This means identifying and resolving issues, orchestrating smooth cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and building AI/ML-driven workflows that automate significant portions of operational work. You'll hold genuine authority over infrastructure decisions—no prolonged waits for approval from stakeholders disconnected from technical realities.

If you're a self-directed problem-solver energized by unraveling complicated systems and ensuring flawless operation, this role will engage you fully. If you require continuous guidance, become overwhelmed managing multiple technology stacks, or favor greenfield projects over creating structure from disorder, this environment won't suit you. If you're prepared to assume ownership of a high-impact infrastructure position with opportunity to build, refine, and automate at scale, submit your application now!

What you will be doing

  • Orchestrating and executing sophisticated infrastructure transformations, including transitions from legacy environments to AWS cloud infrastructure and lift-and-shift migrations
  • Architecting and deploying monitoring strategies while creating automation for monitoring systems, software deployment pipelines, and operational processes
  • Conducting system monitoring, executing system backups, managing incident response, overseeing database migrations, configuring database systems, and optimizing costs

What you will NOT be doing

  • Spending time in Jira and continuous status meetings - we prioritize individuals who deliver solutions, not merely document issues
  • Sustaining legacy systems indefinitely - you'll be authorized to implement substantive improvements
  • Waiting through bureaucratic approval processes - you'll possess the authority to implement immediate remediation during incidents
  • Operating within restrictive technical boundaries - this position demands both comprehensive and specialized knowledge
  • Justifying budget for essential infrastructure enhancements - we recognize the value of infrastructure investment

Key responsibilities

  • Advance reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure throughout our expanding product portfolio by deploying comprehensive monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.

Candidate requirements

  • Extensive AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our core platform - experience with other cloud providers alone is insufficient)
  • Solid programming capabilities in Python or JavaScript for developing automation and tooling
  • Proven experience managing and migrating production databases across multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
  • Proficient Docker/Kubernetes skills
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
  • Expert-level Linux systems administration knowledge
