Description

You're the engineer who maintains availability across 50+ SaaS products when others are still figuring things out. We need DevOps engineers capable of stepping into unknown AWS environments, restoring order from instability, and driving uptime beyond 99.9% through proven monitoring, automation, and root-cause analysis. You'll break down complex projects into daily deliverables, deploy production-ready Python or JavaScript, and leverage AI as your assistant.

While most organizations talk about "cloud transformation" while manually nursing individual systems, we're scaling reliability across a portfolio of acquired products where original developers have departed and documentation is incomplete. That's where it gets interesting: you'll employ agents and current tooling to explore unfamiliar systems 5–10× faster, document your findings, and automate solutions so the same failure never recurs. Rather than judging you by certifications and vendor badges, we'll observe how you diagnose live issues, author a genuine 5-Whys analysis that identifies one preventable root cause, and create automations that withstand production stress.

This isn't a tier-2 "execute the runbook" position. Here, you author the runbooks, architect the deployment path from development through staged to 10% to full rollout with soak periods and rollback conditions, and construct the monitoring that detects corner cases. You block risky changes before they reach production. You distinguish infrastructure failures you're accountable for from application bugs Engineering must address, and you route permanent solutions to the correct team.

You'll operate at the engineering foundation of reliability, managing infrastructure initiatives, incident resolution and root-cause documentation, and change requests accompanied by copy-paste-ready runbooks. If you've already been responsible for a substantial SaaS product and want to apply that expertise across a portfolio, join us. Bring advanced AWS knowledge, production-quality coding ability, strict scope discipline, and daily, essential reliance on AI tooling. If you're prepared to ensure continuity, please apply.

What you will be doing

  • Complex infrastructure migrations, consolidations, production-quality automations, monitoring implementations
  • Investigating production incidents, deploying immediate remediation, and documenting root cause analyses with permanent corrections assigned to accountable teams
  • Authoring, validating, and deploying changes in production, including assessing whether a proposed change can be safely executed

What you will NOT be doing

  • Spending time in Jira and continuous status calls - we prioritize people who deliver solutions, not merely document issues
  • Preserving legacy systems without end - you'll be authorized to pursue substantial enhancements
  • Waiting on bureaucratic clearance chains - you'll possess the authority to deploy immediate corrections during incidents

Key responsibilities

  • Advance reliability and consistency of cloud infrastructure across our expanding product portfolio by deploying comprehensive monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.

Candidate requirements

  • Deep AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our primary platform - other cloud experience alone won't cut it)
  • Experience owning large production infrastructure and troubleshooting production outages independently (not just following a runbook)
  • Experience scripting with Python and Bash for day-to-day administration operations
  • Experience managing and migrating production databases with multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
  • Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
  • Linux systems administration expertise
