Operations Manager   $60,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is an in-person position based at our Austin, TX campus.

A well-functioning campus operates with clarity, order, and professionalism—sustained by someone orchestrating countless decisions to maintain that standard.

Nova Academy serves students and families who hold high expectations for their educational experience. Those expectations reach beyond the classroom. They surface in the quality of family communication, the security students experience, the efficiency of daily routines, and the speed at which challenges are addressed. This position ensures those elements function reliably, day after day.

You will carry full accountability for the campus's non-instructional operations. You establish credibility with families through responsive and transparent communication. You protect student safety by managing protocols and overseeing incident procedures. You coordinate facilities, logistics, and operational workflows so instructional staff remain centered on students. You also maintain technology infrastructure to enable learning without disruption.

This is a visible, operational role suited to someone who thrives on diverse responsibilities, accountability, and contribution. If you gain energy from problem-solving, supporting a mission-driven community, and building an environment where students and educators succeed, this role provides substantial ownership and influence.

What you will be doing

  • Cultivating productive relationships with families, students, and team members via proactive, bilingual outreach and support
  • Directing campus safety functions, including entry protocols, health response, emergency drills, record-keeping, and family notifications
  • Supervising day-to-day campus functions including attendance tracking, transport logistics, facility maintenance, and office administration
  • Facilitating onboarding and orientation for incoming staff to ensure seamless adoption of campus procedures and values
  • Administering student technology and campus IT systems, acting as the primary on-site technical resource and Google Administrator

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering classroom instruction or providing academic support
  • Mentoring instructional staff or designing educational programming
  • Functioning within a narrowly scoped or exclusively clerical capacity
  • Working in a static, routine-driven setting
  • Escalating issues rather than resolving them independently

Key responsibilities

Guarantee that Nova Academy functions with safety, efficiency, and reliability so that students, educators, and families encounter a dependable, high-integrity campus environment daily.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (field of study not specified)
  • Minimum of 1 year in office coordination, facility management, site operations, or comparable operational functions
  • Proficiency with foundational technology responsibilities including device configuration, basic troubleshooting, and user account management
  • Excellent communication capabilities in both written and spoken formats
  • Capability to balance competing priorities with precision and thoroughness
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English for effective verbal and written communication
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Ability to work on-site in Austin, TX, or readiness to relocate

Nice to have

  • 3+ years in operational management or related leadership roles
  • Prior experience administering Google Workspace environments
  • Background in event coordination and execution
