Head of Operations   $60,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is an in-person position based at our Austin, TX campus.

A well-run campus feels orderly, approachable, and efficient—because someone is consistently managing countless details to sustain that environment.

Nova Academy is designed for students and families seeking a superior school experience. That standard reaches beyond classroom instruction. It is reflected in the quality of family communication, the sense of security students experience, the efficiency of daily routines, and the speed at which issues are addressed. This position ensures those elements function reliably every day.

In this capacity, you oversee all non-instructional operations across the campus. You establish credibility with families by maintaining transparent and timely communication. You protect student safety by managing security protocols and incident responses. You handle facilities, logistics, and operational workflows so that staff remain concentrated on student outcomes. You also ensure that technology infrastructure enables learning without disruption.

This is a practical, community-oriented position suited to someone who values diversity of responsibility, accountability, and service. If you are motivated by resolving challenges, strengthening community, and building an environment in which students and staff succeed, this role provides substantial ownership and influence.

What you will be doing

  • Developing strong connections with parents, students, and staff by delivering proactive, bilingual outreach and communication
  • Directing campus security operations, including entry protocols, health event management, emergency drills, record-keeping, and family notifications
  • Supervising day-to-day campus functions such as attendance tracking, transportation arrangements, facilities maintenance, and office workflow
  • Facilitating onboarding and orientation for new personnel to ensure seamless adoption of campus protocols and culture
  • Administering student technology and campus systems, acting as the primary on-site technical resource and Google Administrator

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering classroom instruction or contributing to academic teaching
  • Mentoring Guides or designing educational content
  • Functioning within a narrowly scoped or exclusively clerical capacity
  • Working in a static, highly routine setting
  • Delegating issues rather than driving them to completion

Key responsibilities

Guarantee that Nova Academy functions securely, smoothly, and reliably so that students, staff, and families encounter a trustworthy, well-organized campus environment daily.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (field of study not specified)
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in office coordination, facilities management, site operations, or comparable operational functions
  • Proficiency with fundamental technology responsibilities including device configuration, troubleshooting, and user account management
  • Excellent written and spoken communication abilities
  • Capability to juggle multiple responsibilities while maintaining precision
  • Fluency in both spoken Spanish and English for effective communication
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Availability to work on-site in Austin, TX, or readiness to relocate

Nice to have

  • 3 or more years of experience managing operational functions
  • Prior experience serving as a Google Administrator
  • Background in organizing and executing events
