Facilities Support Specialist   $60,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is an in-person position based at our Austin, TX campus.

A well-functioning campus feels orderly, calm, and inviting—the result of countless behind-the-scenes decisions made to sustain that environment.

Nova Academy was created to serve students and families who demand more from their educational experience. That standard reaches beyond the classroom. It is reflected in family communication, student safety, operational flow, and the speed with which issues are addressed. This position ensures those elements function reliably, day after day.

In this position, you hold responsibility for the complete non-academic operations of the campus. You cultivate family trust through precise, responsive communication. You protect student safety by managing procedures and incident protocols. You oversee facilities, logistics, and daily workflows so instructional staff remain focused on students. You also ensure technology serves learning without causing disruption.

This is a practical, high-contact position suited to someone who values variety, accountability, and service. If you find purpose in problem-solving, supporting a community, and building an environment where students and staff succeed, this role delivers real ownership and measurable impact.

What you will be doing

  • Establishing trusted relationships with parents, students, and staff through responsive, bilingual outreach
  • Overseeing campus safety systems, including entry protocols, health response, emergency drills, incident records, and family notifications
  • Managing day-to-day campus functions such as attendance workflows, transportation logistics, facility maintenance, and office operations
  • Facilitating onboarding and training for incoming staff to support seamless integration into campus routines and culture
  • Administering student devices and campus technology, functioning as the on-site technical resource and Google Administrator

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering classroom instruction or supporting academic lessons
  • Mentoring Guides or contributing to curriculum design
  • Operating within a narrowly scoped or strictly clerical function
  • Working in a static, highly routine setting
  • Transferring issues to others rather than resolving them yourself

Key responsibilities

Ensure Nova Academy functions safely, effectively, and reliably so students, staff, and families encounter a trustworthy, well-managed campus environment daily.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (field of study not specified)
  • At least 1 year of experience in office coordination, facilities support, site operations, or comparable operational roles
  • Competence with fundamental technology tasks including device setup, troubleshooting, and account administration
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Capacity to handle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate fluently in both spoken Spanish and English
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Availability to work on-site in Austin, TX, or willingness to relocate

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of operational management experience
  • Experience serving as a Google Administrator
  • Experience planning and executing events
