Facilities Support Specialist   $60,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is an in-person position based at our Austin, TX campus.

Are you frustrated by waiting for others to resolve issues you could handle immediately? At Nova Academy, you will serve as the go-to expert who keeps the campus operating efficiently, addressing operational obstacles with speed, ingenuity, and accountability.

Your responsibilities will span from resolving technical device issues to orchestrating seamless events and maintaining campus security—work that is essential to our mission. Your contributions will be recognized: you will develop meaningful connections with students, parents, and staff who appreciate your skills and commitment. At Nova Academy, your workday is more than simply active—it is purposeful, varied, and genuinely fulfilling.

Why Nova Academy?

  • Learning from the Best: Work alongside seasoned professionals throughout our network, acquiring knowledge and skills that accelerate your professional development.
  • Growth Opportunities: With guidance from the Campus Director and Lead Campus Coordinator, you will gradually assume expanded responsibilities—from parent engagement to operational management—building your expertise and influence.
  • Playbook for Success: Utilize a proven operational playbook, developing proficiency in creating, refining, and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across a fast-growing school network.
  • Training and Mentorship: As your role evolves, you will support the development of others by training and mentoring new team members at multiple campuses.

If you are prepared to leave behind an environment of excessive oversight, red tape, or minimal impact and enter a position where your choices have real consequences, we invite you to join us.

What you will be doing

  • Taking full ownership of day-to-day campus operations—from fire safety protocols to staff onboarding and maintaining an uninterrupted learning environment.
  • Addressing technical problems directly: diagnosing issues, overseeing device migrations, and acting as the primary resource for technology support.
  • Preparing professional, well-organized spaces for events and ensuring flawless execution.
  • Establishing trust with students, parents, and staff through transparent communication and excellent service delivery.
  • Maintaining campus security by implementing effective protocols, conducting drills, and upholding safety standards.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Teaching classes or designing curriculum—your priority is operational performance, not instructional content.
  • Following inflexible procedures or waiting for others to initiate action—this position demands proactive ownership.
  • Operating in a silo—success in this role depends on teamwork and active community involvement.
  • Performing monotonous or routine tasks—this position provides diversity and substantive challenges.

Key responsibilities

Maintain smooth campus operations while establishing trust and providing outstanding service to students, staff, and parents.

  • Bachelor's degree (field of study is not specified)
  • Demonstrated capability to solve problems and manage operational logistics confidently
