Most organizations ask you to support a single platform. We expect you to unify and refine multiple platforms without disruption. While others separate databases, we take a different approach, strategically consolidating them to maximize cost efficiency and management simplicity across our portfolio. This position isn't suited for someone content with maintaining existing infrastructure; it's designed for someone who encounters a fragmented, inconsistent environment and immediately envisions a superior architecture.
You'll be accountable for everything from infrastructure transitions to AI-powered automation, performance optimization, database migration, and cost management. This involves identifying and resolving issues, planning and implementing smooth cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and automating significant portions of your responsibilities using AI/ML-driven workflows. You'll possess genuine authority to make infrastructure choices—no prolonged waiting for approvals from individuals unfamiliar with the technical realities.

What you will be doing
- Executing complex infrastructure transformations, including transitions from legacy environments to AWS cloud platforms and lift-and-shift migration strategies
- Architecting and deploying monitoring frameworks and creating automations for monitoring systems, software releases, and operational processes
- Conducting system surveillance, backup operations, incident management, database transitions, database setup, and cost reduction initiatives

- Spending time in Jira and perpetual status meetings - we prioritize people who deliver solutions, not merely document issues
- Supporting obsolete systems permanently - you'll be authorized to implement substantial improvements
- Waiting through bureaucratic approval processes - you'll have authority to implement immediate resolutions for incidents
- Operating within restrictive technical boundaries - this position demands both comprehensive and specialized knowledge
- Advocating for budget to deploy essential improvements - we recognize the value of infrastructure investment
Key responsibilities
- Advance reliability and consistency of cloud infrastructure throughout our expanding product portfolio by deploying comprehensive monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.
Candidate requirements
- Extensive AWS infrastructure knowledge (this is our core platform - experience with other clouds alone is insufficient)
- Solid programming capabilities in Python or JavaScript for creating automation and tooling solutions
- Background managing and migrating production databases across multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
- Expert-level Docker/Kubernetes proficiency
- Background with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
- Linux systems administration proficiency
