DevOps Architect   $100,000 USD/year

Description

You're a DevOps engineer who prioritizes prevention over reaction. If your passion lies in dissecting complex legacy infrastructure, architecting more efficient solutions, and automating every manual process you find, this opportunity is for you. We need a DevOps and AWS infrastructure specialist who excels in demanding environments where 99.9% uptime is the baseline expectation. Your work will span a portfolio of acquired products, each with unique characteristics, as you migrate them into a unified, scalable AWS ecosystem and implement monitoring and automation that minimizes incidents.

Most organizations ask you to maintain one stack. We're asking you to consolidate and refine multiple stacks without disruption. Where others separate databases, we take a different approach, strategically consolidating them to achieve cost savings and management efficiency across our portfolio. This role isn't for someone content with maintaining the status quo; it's for someone who encounters a disjointed, inconsistent environment and immediately envisions improvement.

Your ownership will extend from infrastructure migrations to AI-powered automation, performance optimization, database migration, and cost management. This means identifying and resolving existing issues, planning and executing cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and using AI/ML-driven workflows to automate substantial portions of operational work. You'll possess genuine authority to make infrastructure decisions—no endless waiting for approval from stakeholders unfamiliar with the technical realities.

If you're a self-directed problem-solver who enjoys bringing order to complex systems and ensuring flawless operation, this role will be highly rewarding. If you require significant guidance, struggle with diverse technology stacks, or prefer greenfield projects over transforming existing chaos, this position isn't the right fit. If you're prepared to assume ownership of a high-impact infrastructure role with opportunities to build, optimize, and automate at scale, submit your application today.

What you will be doing

  • Executing complex infrastructure changes, including migrations from legacy environments to AWS cloud platforms and lift-and-shift operations
  • Creating and deploying monitoring strategies and developing automations for monitoring, deployment pipelines, and operational processes
  • Conducting system monitoring, backup operations, incident management, database migrations, database configuration, and cost optimization initiatives

What you will NOT be doing

  • Spending time in Jira and prolonged status meetings - we prioritize people who deliver solutions, not merely document issues
  • Indefinitely supporting legacy systems - you'll be enabled to implement substantial improvements
  • Waiting through bureaucratic approval processes - you'll possess the authority to implement immediate resolutions during incidents
  • Operating within restrictive technical boundaries - this position demands both comprehensive and specialized knowledge
  • Justifying budget for essential improvements - we recognize the value of infrastructure investment

Key responsibilities

  • Drive reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure across our growing product portfolio by implementing robust monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.

Candidate requirements

  • Deep AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our primary platform - other cloud experience alone won't cut it)
  • Experience scripting with Python and Bash for day-to-day administration operations
  • Experience managing and migrating production databases with multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
  • Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
  • Linux systems administration expertise
