Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a full-time, on-site employee position at our Austin, Texas campus.

Consider the impact of enabling an 8-year-old to present a business concept more effectively than most professionals, or equipping a 10-year-old to deliver a presentation with the confidence of a seasoned speaker. At Alpha, these outcomes are standard expectations. We create life skills workshops designed to push K–8 students beyond conventional limits, and we need someone capable of building experiences that students are eager to revisit and parents actively recommend.

This role differs fundamentally from conventional instructional design positions. You will not spend time refining lessons within rigid institutional frameworks or developing unused materials. Instead, you will take complete ownership of workshop design in public speaking and entrepreneurship, continuously enhancing them using direct feedback from students, parents, and data-driven Test2Pass evaluations. Operating with the autonomy of an independent product team and supported by advanced AI resources, you will be expected to deliver work that meets the high standards our schools demand.

This position is located at our Austin, TX campus. The role is full-time and requires in-person attendance because direct observation of student engagement is essential. If your goal is to create educational experiences that are engaging, transformative, and focused on mastery, this opportunity is designed for that purpose.

What you will be doing

  • Designing mastery-focused life skills workshops in public speaking and entrepreneurship that captivate students and earn parent approval.
  • Developing rigorous Test2Pass assessments that objectively track progress and mastery.
  • Observing live workshop sessions and converting student engagement patterns and parent input into actionable design enhancements.
  • Leveraging AI tools to explore ideas deeply, extract insights, and speed up iteration processes.
  • Structuring content to balance emotional engagement with academic integrity, consistently targeting both excellence and enjoyment.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Depending on fixed curricula or conventional educational standards.
  • Working in isolation: this position requires continuous interaction with actual students and parents.
  • Creating materials without measurable results or defined mastery criteria.
  • Leading workshops in person (that responsibility belongs to our Guides).

Key responsibilities

Design compelling life skills workshops in public speaking and entrepreneurship that students are excited about, parents respect, and that provably build mastery through Test2Pass. Enable children to accomplish outcomes that exceed typical age expectations.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • At least 1 year of experience creating educational content, workshops, or trainings
  • Demonstrated ability to design experiences that delight kids and impress parents
  • Proven experience building assessments that measure real skill (not just participation)
  • Strong decomposition and simplification skills to break complex life skills into teachable steps
  • Proficient with Gen AI tools
  • Able to work independently on a high-autonomy, self-directed team
  • Willing to work full-time in-person at Alpha's Austin campus
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
