Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a full-time, in-person opportunity located at our Austin, Texas campus.

Are you prepared to lead the charge in early childhood education and inspire the next generation? Alpha School in Austin is searching for a remarkable individual who can ignite the curiosity of young minds while guiding a team of dedicated Guides to new heights.

Picture yourself as a coach who not only trains Olympic gymnasts but also competes alongside them, consistently achieving perfect scores. That's the level of adaptability and excellence we're looking for. You'll spend your days mentoring a group of K-2 students and coaching a team of Guides, the passionate professionals who inspire and motivate children, maintaining the highest standards for both.

Our 2-Hour Learning program seamlessly blends AI-driven adaptive technology with hands-on guidance, offering a uniquely personalized educational experience. You'll be the linchpin of this system, equally skilled at captivating a 5-year-old with foundational literacy and coaching an adult Guide in advanced facilitation techniques.

At Alpha, we don't just challenge the status quo—we redefine it. If you can seamlessly transition from building LEGOs with kindergarteners to conducting data-driven performance reviews with your team, we want you. Your ability to inspire, motivate, and elevate both children and adults will be the driving force in transforming education from the ground up.

You'll also tackle the most challenging cohort of K-2 students, those who test our limits in various ways. This might include exceptionally advanced learners we're striving to challenge, fiercely independent spirits we're guiding towards teamwork, or students struggling to engage with our computer-based approach. Your mission is to connect these students' academic goals with their unique motivations, setting the gold standard for personalized learning.

Don't just dream of a better educational system—help us build it. Apply now and be part of the team that's scripting the next chapter in learning. At Alpha, we're not just preparing students for the future; we're creating it. Are you ready to join us?

What you will be doing

  • Directly mentor a cohort of K-2 students, showcasing exceptional facilitation skills in early childhood education.
  • Lead and nurture a team of Guides, demonstrating outstanding coaching techniques for young learners.
  • Develop and implement playbooks that set the gold standard for K-2 education within our innovative learning environment.
  • Offer constructive feedback to your team of Guides, encouraging continuous improvement in student engagement and achievement.
  • Utilize AI-driven tools to enhance educational outcomes, bridging the gap between technology and human interaction for our youngest learners.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Focusing solely on either student instruction or team leadership—you'll excel in both areas simultaneously.
  • Settling for mediocrity from students or Guides—you'll maintain exceptionally high standards across the board.
  • Relying on outdated teaching methods—you'll innovate new approaches that blend technology with traditional pedagogical practices.
  • Avoiding challenges—you'll tackle the complexities of early childhood education and team leadership with equal enthusiasm.

Key responsibilities

Lead the development of independent learning and life skills for K-2 students, particularly those presenting unique challenges, while simultaneously elevating a team of Guides to implement the Alpha system with world-class excellence.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • At least 5 years of experience working with early learners (K-2) with leadership responsibilities

  • Expertise in employing growth mindset and data-driven coaching strategies for diverse age groups
  • Passion for integrating AI and cutting-edge technologies in early childhood education
  • Willingness to work on-site in Austin, Texas
