Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a full-time, in-person employee position based at our Austin, Texas campus.

Picture yourself as the architect behind an 8-year-old delivering a business pitch that rivals seasoned entrepreneurs, or a 10-year-old commanding an audience with the confidence of a TED Talk veteran. At Alpha, these outcomes aren't aspirational—they're standard. We create life skills workshops that empower K–8 students to achieve what many consider unattainable, and we need someone capable of designing experiences so compelling that children ask to come back and parents become vocal advocates.

This role departs from conventional instructional design positions. You won't navigate institutional red tape or develop materials destined for obscurity. Instead, you'll take complete ownership of workshop design in public speaking and entrepreneurship, continuously refining them using direct feedback from students, parents, and our demanding Test2Pass assessment framework. You'll function as an independent product team of one, leveraging advanced AI tools to deliver work that meets the exacting standards our schools demand.

The position requires your presence at our Austin, TX campus. It's a full-time, in-person commitment because direct observation of student engagement is essential. If you're drawn to creating educational experiences that combine joy, excellence, and true mastery, this opportunity is for you.

What you will be doing

  • Creating mastery-focused life skills workshops in public speaking and entrepreneurship that captivate students and earn parental praise.
  • Developing rigorous Test2Pass assessments to objectively track student growth and skill acquisition.
  • Observing live workshop sessions and converting student engagement patterns and parent insights into iterative design enhancements.
  • Leveraging AI tools to explore deeply, synthesize findings, and compress iteration timelines.
  • Balancing emotional engagement with academic rigor, ensuring content achieves both delight and credibility.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Depending on fixed curricula or conventional academic standards.
  • Designing in isolation: this position requires ongoing feedback from actual students and parents.
  • Creating materials without defined outcomes or clear mastery benchmarks.
  • Facilitating workshops directly (our Guides handle delivery).

Key responsibilities

Design compelling life skills workshops in public speaking and entrepreneurship that students love, parents respect, and that verifiably build mastery through Test2Pass. Empower children to accomplish feats beyond their expected developmental stage.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience developing educational content, workshops, or training programs
  • Demonstrated capacity to create experiences that engage children and impress parents
  • Proven track record building assessments that evaluate genuine skill acquisition (not merely attendance)
  • Strong ability to decompose and simplify complex life skills into structured, teachable components
  • Proficient with generative AI tools
  • Capable of working autonomously within a high-independence, self-managed team
  • Willing to work full-time on-site at Alpha's Austin campus
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship
