Curriculum Writer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

IMPORTANT: This is a full-time, on-site position at our Austin, Texas location.

Imagine empowering an 8-year-old to pitch a business idea with the confidence of a seasoned entrepreneur or helping a 10-year-old captivate an audience like a TED speaker. At Alpha, this isn't just a dream—it's our reality. We create workshops that inspire K–8 students to achieve the "impossible," and we're seeking someone who can design experiences that kids eagerly anticipate and parents rave about.

This isn't your typical instructional design role. You won't be adjusting lessons in a bureaucratic maze or crafting unused content. Here, you'll take full ownership of designing public speaking and entrepreneurship workshops, elevating them through real-time feedback from students, parents, and the rigorous Test2Pass evaluations. You'll function as a one-person product team, equipped with the latest AI tools, expected to deliver the high-quality work our schools demand.

This position is based at our Austin, TX campus. It’s full-time and in-person because observing kids actively engage is essential. If you aspire to create educational experiences that are joyful, awe-inspiring, and mastery-focused, this is the opportunity for you.

What you will be doing

  • Crafting mastery-focused life skills workshops in public speaking and entrepreneurship that engage kids and impress parents.
  • Developing rigorous Test2Pass assessments to objectively evaluate growth and mastery.
  • Watching student interactions in real workshops and transforming both their enthusiasm and parental feedback into design enhancements.
  • Leveraging AI tools to delve deep, synthesize insights, and speed up your iteration process.
  • Designing content for both emotional impact and academic integrity, consistently aiming for delight and rigor.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Depending on unchanging curricula or conventional academic standards.
  • Working in isolation: this role requires ongoing input from actual kids and parents.
  • Creating materials without measurable outcomes or clear mastery goals.
  • Conducting workshops yourself (our Guides handle that).

Key responsibilities

Develop captivating life skills workshops in public speaking and entrepreneurship that kids love, parents admire, and that clearly foster mastery through Test2Pass. Empower children to achieve remarkable feats.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in creating educational content, workshops, or training programs
  • Proven ability to design experiences that delight children and impress parents
  • Experience in creating assessments that measure real skills, not just participation
  • Strong skills in breaking down and simplifying complex life skills into teachable components
  • Proficiency with Generative AI tools
  • Capable of working independently within a high-autonomy, self-directed team
  • Willing to work full-time on-site at Alpha’s Austin campus
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
