Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a full-time, in-person employee position based at our Austin, Texas campus.

Picture yourself as the force behind an 8-year-old delivering a business pitch that rivals most professionals, or a 10-year-old owning the stage with TED-level presence. At Alpha, these outcomes aren't aspirational—they're standard. We create life skills workshops that empower K–8 students to achieve what seems impossible, and we need someone capable of designing experiences so compelling that children ask to come back and parents enthusiastically share the results.

This role differs fundamentally from conventional instructional design positions. You won't spend time adjusting lesson plans within a cumbersome hierarchy or developing materials that sit unused. Instead, you'll assume complete ownership of workshop design in entrepreneurship and public speaking, then refine them continuously using direct student feedback, parent insights, and structured Test2Pass evaluations. You'll function as an independent product team, leveraging advanced AI tools and delivering output that meets the high standards our schools demand.

This position requires your physical presence at our Austin, TX campus. It's full-time and in-person because observing authentic student engagement is essential. If you're driven to create educational experiences that combine joy, excellence, and mastery, this role offers exactly that opportunity.

What you will be doing

  • Crafting mastery-focused life skills workshops in entrepreneurship and public speaking that captivate students and earn parent approval.
  • Developing structured Test2Pass evaluations that objectively track skill progression and mastery achievement.
  • Watching student interactions during live workshops and converting observations—along with parent feedback—into curriculum enhancements.
  • Leveraging AI tools to explore deeply, synthesize findings, and speed up your design iteration process.
  • Balancing emotional impact with academic rigor, ensuring content is both engaging and credible.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Depending on fixed curricula or conventional academic standards.
  • Working in isolation: this position requires ongoing engagement with actual students and parents.
  • Creating materials without measurable results or defined mastery goals.
  • Teaching workshops directly (our Guides handle instruction).

Key responsibilities

Design compelling life skills workshops in entrepreneurship and public speaking that engage children, impress parents, and produce demonstrable mastery validated through Test2Pass. Enable students to accomplish feats beyond typical age expectations.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • At least 1 year of experience developing educational content, workshops, or training programs
  • Demonstrated capability to create experiences that captivate children and satisfy parents
  • Proven track record designing assessments that evaluate genuine skill acquisition (not merely attendance)
  • Strong ability to deconstruct and simplify complex life skills into actionable teaching components
  • Proficient with Gen AI tools
  • Capable of operating independently within a high-autonomy, self-managed team
  • Willing to work full-time in-person at Alpha's Austin campus
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
