Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a full-time, in-person employee position at our Austin, Texas campus.

Picture yourself as the architect behind an 8-year-old pitching business concepts with more confidence than most professionals, or a 10-year-old delivering stage presentations rivaling TED talks. At Alpha, this outcome isn't aspirational—it's standard. We build life skills workshops that enable K–8 students to achieve what seems beyond reach, and we need someone capable of designing experiences students eagerly return to and parents enthusiastically endorse.

This isn't a conventional instructional design position. You won't navigate bureaucratic approval chains or develop unused materials. Instead, you'll assume complete ownership of workshop design in public speaking and entrepreneurship, refining them continuously using direct feedback from students, parents, and stringent Test2Pass assessments. You'll function as an independent product team, leveraging advanced AI tools, and deliver work that meets the high standards our schools demand.

This position requires full-time, in-person presence at our Austin, TX campus. Direct observation of student engagement is essential. If you're driven to create educational experiences that are delightful, impressive, and mastery-focused, this role offers that opportunity.

What you will be doing

  • Creating mastery-focused life skills workshops in public speaking and entrepreneurship that captivate students and earn parent approval.
  • Developing rigorous Test2Pass assessments that objectively track growth and skill mastery.
  • Observing live workshop sessions and converting student reactions and parent insights into design enhancements.
  • Leveraging AI tools to explore deeply, synthesize findings, and speed up iteration processes.
  • Structuring content to balance emotional engagement with academic rigor, consistently targeting both delight and excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Depending on fixed curricula or conventional academic standards.
  • Working in isolation: this position requires ongoing engagement with actual students and parents.
  • Creating materials without measurable results or defined mastery benchmarks.
  • Facilitating workshops directly (our Guides handle delivery).

Key responsibilities

Develop compelling life skills workshops in public speaking and entrepreneurship that students love, parents respect, and that verifiably build mastery through Test2Pass. Enable children to accomplish achievements beyond their expected developmental stage.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • At least 1 year of experience creating educational content, workshops, or trainings
  • Demonstrated ability to design experiences that delight kids and impress parents
  • Proven experience building assessments that measure real skill (not just participation)
  • Strong decomposition and simplification skills to break complex life skills into teachable steps
  • Proficient with Gen AI tools
  • Able to work independently on a high-autonomy, self-directed team
  • Willing to work full-time in-person at Alpha's Austin campus
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
