Business Operations Manager   $100,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is a full-time, in-person role located at our NYC campus.

Exceptional minds deserve exceptional operations. At Alpha, we're not just another private school—we're an educational revolution where students complete high school academics by 8th grade, score 5s on APs, and achieve 1350+ on SATs. We need a strategic operations leader who can create the infrastructure that powers academic excellence.

While traditional schools settle for mediocrity, Alpha celebrates intellectual achievement. Our 2-Hour Learning model accelerates education at twice the traditional pace, but this ambition requires flawless execution. As our Operations Manager, you'll be the backbone that enables our campus to function at the highest level, creating an environment where brilliant minds can focus solely on their limitless potential.

This role demands someone who thrives on creating order from complexity—managing everything from campus safety to technology infrastructure with precision and foresight. If you're ready to apply your operational expertise to transform education for the next generation of leaders, Alpha is where your skills will make a tangible difference.

What you will be doing

  • Orchestrate daily campus operations with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring our accelerated learning environment runs without interruption
  • Provide frontline technology support and device troubleshooting while coordinating with specialized IT resources for complex issues
  • Cultivate meaningful relationships with our community through strategic communication that builds trust with students, parents, and staff
  • Implement and enforce comprehensive safety protocols that protect our campus while maintaining an environment conducive to exceptional learning
  • Drive critical campus initiatives including community events, staff onboarding processes, and facility optimization

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering academic instruction or curriculum design—our specialized guides handle student mentorship while you focus on operational excellence
  • Working in administrative isolation—your operational decisions directly impact student achievement and family satisfaction
  • Managing low-impact administrative tasks—every responsibility in this role directly supports our mission of accelerated, limitless learning

Key responsibilities

Power the operational engine behind an educational revolution—create and maintain a campus environment where operational excellence enables students to achieve extraordinary academic results and families experience the transformative difference of the Alpha approach.

Candidate requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing complex operations in education, events, hospitality, or comparable environments
  • Demonstrated capacity to maintain composure during crises, take decisive initiative, and independently prioritize competing demands
  • Proficiency with basic IT troubleshooting and Google Workspace administration
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that establish and maintain community trust
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship and commitment to on-site presence in NYC
