Online Youth Mentor   $40,000 USD/year

Description

Imagine a role focused entirely on helping children feel confident, energized, and eager to engage—no lesson planning, no grading involved.

Novatio School is transforming student support through an AI-powered academic model that completes core instruction in two concentrated morning hours. Afternoons are dedicated to live, interactive workshops where students explore new ideas, collaborate, and develop.

You'll maintain momentum and manage the operational flow. Your focus is guiding students to the right spaces, fostering engagement in small groups, and stepping in with encouragement when learners face challenges. Content delivery isn't your responsibility, but you'll be critical to ensuring every session operates seamlessly.

If you've guided young people in any capacity—whether through camps, athletics, tutoring, or youth initiatives—and want to help make education feel meaningful, connected, and engaging, this opportunity may be ideal.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating live virtual workshops by coordinating breakout rooms, managing transitions, and organizing group activities
  • Encouraging student participation and building confidence through chat engagement, recognition, and individual outreach
  • Maintaining student focus, connection, and enthusiasm throughout their learning sessions
  • Supporting lead educators with operational details that ensure workshops function without disruption
  • Serving as a community builder and consistent point of contact across bilingual tracks and extracurricular clubs

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering academic instruction or teaching subject matter
  • Developing lesson plans or evaluating student work
  • Building curriculum or facilitating workshops independently
  • Observing passively—this role requires active involvement and sustained energy

Key responsibilities

Facilitate dynamic, virtual learning environments by ensuring students remain engaged, organized, and motivated during every workshop session.

Candidate requirements

  • Willing to work 8am - 5pm M-F US Mountain Time (UTC-7)
  • At least 1 year of experience mentoring, coaching, tutoring, or leading youth
  • Educational background in US, Canadian, or UK school systems (K-16) - must have attended school in one of these countries (current location can be anywhere)
  • Strong communication skills and energizing, student-first presence with an eye for details
  • Ready to start by the end of July

Nice to have

  • Experience with online learning tools or youth enrichment programs
  • Background in after-school programs, summer camps, or club leadership
