Online Youth Mentor   $40,000 USD/year

Description

Imagine a role focused entirely on helping young learners feel engaged, confident, and eager to participate—without the burden of grading or curriculum development.

Novatio School is transforming the way we think about student support. Our AI-driven academic model delivers core instruction in just two concentrated morning hours. In the afternoons, students join live online workshops where they explore new interests, collaborate, and develop essential skills.

Your job is to maintain momentum and ensure seamless execution. You'll guide students through transitions, foster participation in small-group activities, and provide encouragement when learners hit a wall. Content delivery isn't your responsibility, but your presence will be critical to the success of every session.

If you have experience guiding young people in any capacity—whether through camps, athletics, tutoring, or youth organizations—and you want to help reimagine school as something personal, meaningful, and engaging, this role may be your ideal next step.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating live virtual workshops by coordinating breakout rooms, managing transitions, and overseeing group activities
  • Encouraging student participation and building confidence through chat interaction, verbal recognition, and one-on-one touchpoints
  • Keeping learners focused, motivated, and connected throughout their workshop experience
  • Supporting lead educators with operational details that ensure sessions flow seamlessly
  • Serving as a consistent, positive presence and culture champion across bilingual tracks and extracurricular clubs

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering academic instruction or teaching subject matter
  • Developing lesson plans or evaluating student work
  • Building curriculum or facilitating workshops independently
  • Observing passively—this role demands active involvement and high energy

Key responsibilities

Facilitate dynamic, virtual learning environments by ensuring students remain engaged, organized, and motivated from start to finish in every workshop session.

Candidate requirements

  • Available to work 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday, US Mountain Time (UTC-7)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mentoring, coaching, tutoring, or youth leadership
  • Educational experience within US, Canadian, or UK school systems (K-16)—must have been educated in one of these countries (current residence may be anywhere)
  • Excellent communication abilities and confidence using digital tools and platforms
  • Student-centered, motivating presence with attention to detail and skillful management of transitions

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with online learning platforms or youth development programs
  • Experience in after-school initiatives, summer camp settings, or club facilitation
