As our Online Youth Mentor, you'll be the energetic catalyst who keeps our virtual learning spaces buzzing with enthusiasm. You'll guide students through their digital journey, foster meaningful connections in breakout rooms, and provide that crucial motivational boost when momentum dips. While content delivery isn't your focus, your presence is the essential ingredient that makes our learning experiences truly exceptional.

What you will be doing
- Orchestrating the flow of virtual workshops by expertly managing digital spaces, transitions, and collaborative activities
- Igniting student enthusiasm through personalized encouragement, timely interventions, and creating moments of connection
- Cultivating an atmosphere where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to participate fully
- Collaborating with lead educators to ensure seamless workshop execution and troubleshooting technical hurdles
- Embodying our inclusive culture across diverse learning tracks and special interest clubs
What you will NOT be doing
- Delivering academic content or subject-specific instruction
- Developing curriculum materials or evaluating student performance
- Taking full responsibility for workshop facilitation or content creation
- Observing passively—this role demands your active engagement and enthusiastic presence
Key responsibilities
Create vibrant digital learning environments by ensuring students remain engaged, focused, and inspired throughout workshop sessions. You'll be the behind-the-scenes facilitator who transforms ordinary online interactions into extraordinary learning moments.
Candidate requirements
- Availability for full-time hours (8am-5pm Monday-Friday, US Mountain Time/UTC-7)
- Minimum 3-year track record of successful youth leadership in coaching, mentoring, or similar roles
- Personal educational experience within US, Canadian, or UK school systems (K-16) - must have been a student in one of these countries (remote work from any location is possible)
- Exceptional digital communication abilities and comfort navigating online platforms
- Dynamic, student-centered presence with strong attention to detail and ability to facilitate smooth transitions
Nice to have
- Previous experience with digital learning environments or youth enrichment programming
- Background coordinating extracurricular activities, summer programs, or student organizations
