Virtual Learning Assistant   $40,000 USD/year

Description

This role centers on fostering student excitement, confidence, and readiness to learn—without the burden of lesson planning or assessment.

Novatio School is transforming the way we support learners. Through an AI-driven academic model, core instruction is delivered in two focused morning hours. The afternoon shifts to live, interactive workshops where students explore new ideas, collaborate, and develop skills.

You will ensure each session flows smoothly and students stay energized. Your work includes guiding transitions, facilitating group activities, and motivating learners when challenges arise. While you won't deliver academic instruction, your contribution is critical to the success of every workshop.

If you have experience leading youth—whether through camps, athletics, tutoring, or community programs—and want to help make education feel engaging, meaningful, and joyful, this opportunity is worth exploring.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating live virtual workshops by coordinating breakout rooms, managing transitions, and supporting group-based activities
  • Encouraging student participation and motivation through direct messaging, recognition, and one-on-one engagement
  • Maintaining student focus, confidence, and connection throughout learning sessions
  • Providing operational support to lead educators to ensure seamless workshop execution
  • Serving as a community presence and cultural anchor across bilingual pathways and extracurricular clubs

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering academic instruction or presenting subject matter content
  • Developing lesson plans or evaluating student work
  • Building curriculum or facilitating workshops independently
  • Observing passively—this role demands active involvement and sustained energy

Key responsibilities

Enable dynamic, virtual learning environments by ensuring students remain engaged, organized, and motivated across every workshop session.

Candidate requirements

  • Availability to work 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday, US Mountain Time (UTC-7)
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in mentoring, coaching, tutoring, or youth leadership
  • Educational history within US, Canadian, or UK school systems (K-16) - must have attended school in one of these countries (current residence may be anywhere)
  • Excellent communication abilities and an energizing, detail-oriented, student-centered approach
  • Able to begin employment by the end of July

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with digital learning platforms or youth development programs
  • Experience in after-school initiatives, summer camp settings, or student club facilitation
