Description

Santa Barbara families shape trends rather than follow them.

Alpha is opening a campus in one of California's most discerning, network-oriented communities. This is not a conventional private school focused on facilities. Students complete essential academics in two concentrated hours through AI-driven learning platforms, then dedicate the remainder of the day to developing public speaking capabilities, critical reasoning, and practical execution skills. The outcomes position students within the top 1% nationwide. The approach is proven. The challenge lies in establishing credibility within this market.

From year zero through year one, this role centers on enrollment leadership built from the ground up. In Santa Barbara, success requires cultivating trust within closely connected social networks where reputation carries weight and errors endure. You will design selective information sessions, conduct private campus visits, engage families in individual discussions, and carefully assemble the founding cohort. After enrollment targets are met and an admissions director is brought on, your focus transitions to serving as the campus's principal liaison for parents—maintaining alignment and converting satisfied families into advocates within their circles.

This role is not transactional enrollment. It demands relationship-building at an elevated standard. You must command credibility among families with access to any educational institution nationally, families who expect substantive responses to rigorous questions regarding AI integration, screen exposure, and long-term student trajectories. A single misaligned family can disrupt a 25-student cohort. Strategic selectivity is essential.

If you are prepared to establish something exceptional in a market that values refinement, discretion, and measurable success, this opportunity is designed for you.

What you will be doing

  • Lead the complete enrollment process from initial inquiry through signed enrollment agreements until 25 students are confirmed
  • Facilitate tailored information sessions and private campus tours that attract aligned families while filtering out mismatched candidates
  • Establish presence and credibility through consistent face-to-face networking, individual meetings, and strategic community alliances throughout Santa Barbara
  • Function as the principal point of contact for prospective and enrolled families, providing elevated, personalized service
  • Articulate and defend Alpha's AI-driven educational model to discerning, questioning parents with clarity and confidence

What you will NOT be doing

  • Maintaining a standard 9–5 workday; early mornings, late afternoons, and occasional evening availability are necessary
  • Depending on a robust admissions or marketing infrastructure to generate leads
  • Enrolling every applicant to achieve numeric goals; preserving cohort integrity takes precedence over quantity
  • Operating primarily from an office; this position demands regular, visible engagement within the community

Key responsibilities

Recruit and secure enrollment of a 25-student founding cohort in Santa Barbara, then foster enduring parent engagement and advocacy to support continuous, referral-driven expansion.

Candidate requirements

  • Currently reside within commuting range of Santa Barbara or prepared to relocate within 60 days
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
  • Minimum 5 years of experience delivering service to high-net-worth clients in consultative sales or premium client relations environments (private school admissions, luxury hospitality, philanthropic advising, or comparable fields)
  • Proven track record managing sales or enrollment pipelines with measurable conversion outcomes
  • Executive-level presence and communication abilities appropriate for affluent, highly educated clientele
  • Self-directed entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate autonomously in an early-stage campus setting
  • Belief in AI-enhanced education and readiness to address objections related to screen time and unconventional educational approaches
  • Flexible schedule accommodating early mornings (7–9am), late afternoons (2–4pm), evening programming (2–3 times monthly), and periodic weekend engagements

Nice to have

  • Existing professional or social connections within the Santa Barbara or Montecito area
  • Prior leadership experience in private or independent school admissions
  • Professional history in luxury real estate, donor development, or major gifts fundraising
  • Prior involvement with startup ventures or early-stage organizations
  • Experience designing or hosting premium events and building community-based partnerships
