Description

Santa Barbara families define the standard. They do not chase it.

Alpha is opening a campus in one of California's most discerning, tightly networked communities. This is not another private school differentiating on facilities. Students finish their core academics in two intensive hours using AI-driven learning platforms, then dedicate the remainder of the day to developing public speaking ability, critical reasoning, and applied problem-solving. Outcomes consistently place students in the nation's top 1%. The model is proven. What remains is establishing credibility here.

From year zero through year one, this is an enrollment leadership role you will build from the ground up. In Santa Barbara, that requires earning trust within insular social networks where reputations compound quickly and errors are remembered. You will design intimate information sessions, lead private campus tours, conduct face-to-face conversations with families, and carefully assemble the founding cohort. After enrollment stabilizes and an admissions director is onboarded, your focus transitions to serving as the campus's principal parent relations leader—maintaining alignment and converting satisfied families into active advocates within their circles.

This role is not transactional selling. It is relationship-building at the executive level. You must be credible with families capable of selecting any school nationally, and who expect substantive responses to rigorous questions about AI integration, screen exposure, and long-term student outcomes. A single misaligned family can disrupt a 25-student cohort. Selectivity is essential.

If you are prepared to build something exceptional in a market that values refinement, discretion, and demonstrated results, this is the role.

What you will be doing

  • Lead the complete enrollment pipeline from initial inquiry through signed enrollment agreement until 25 students are confirmed
  • Design and deliver curated information sessions and private campus tours that convert well-matched families while filtering out unsuitable applicants
  • Establish visibility and credibility through consistent in-person networking, one-on-one meetings, and strategic community partnerships throughout Santa Barbara
  • Act as the primary family liaison, providing personalized, concierge-style engagement
  • Articulate and defend Alpha's AI-powered educational model to discerning, questioning parents

What you will NOT be doing

  • Operating on a standard 9–5 schedule; early mornings, afternoons, and occasional evenings are expected
  • Depending on a fully staffed admissions or marketing function to generate your leads
  • Enrolling every applicant to meet targets; safeguarding cohort quality takes priority over enrollment volume
  • Remaining office-based; this position demands continuous presence in the community

Key responsibilities

Recruit and enroll a founding cohort of 25 students in Santa Barbara, then develop parent engagement and advocacy to support long-term, referral-driven growth.

Candidate requirements

  • Currently reside within commuting range of Santa Barbara or prepared to relocate within 60 days
  • Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
  • 5+ years of professional experience serving high-net-worth clientele in consultative sales or premium client experience roles (examples include private school admissions, luxury service sectors, hospitality, or philanthropic development)
  • Proven track record managing a sales or enrollment pipeline with measurable conversion outcomes
  • Executive-level communication skills and presence appropriate for affluent, educated families
  • Self-directed entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working autonomously in an early-stage campus setting
  • Strong belief in AI-powered education and readiness to address parent concerns regarding screen time and non-traditional pedagogical approaches
  • Flexibility for early morning availability (7–9am), late afternoon commitments (2–4pm), evening programming (2–3 times monthly), and occasional weekend engagement

Nice to have

  • Existing personal or professional networks within Santa Barbara or Montecito
  • Leadership experience in private or independent school admissions
  • Professional background in luxury real estate, development consulting, or major donor fundraising
  • Prior involvement with startup or early-stage ventures
  • Experience organizing high-caliber events or building strategic community alliances
