Description

Families in Santa Barbara do not chase trends. They define them.

Alpha is opening a campus in one of California's most discerning, network-driven communities. This is not another private school vying for attention through facilities alone. Students finish their core academics in two concentrated hours via AI-driven learning platforms, then dedicate the remainder of the day to developing public speaking, critical reasoning, and practical execution skills. Outcomes consistently place students in the top 1% nationwide. The approach is proven. The challenge is whether it can gain acceptance in this environment.

From year zero through year one, this is a ground-up enrollment leadership position. In Santa Barbara, that requires building credibility within closely connected social networks where reputation amplifies quickly and errors are remembered. You will design intimate information sessions, lead private campus tours, conduct individual family meetings, and carefully assemble the founding cohort. After enrollment targets are met and an admissions director is onboarded, your role evolves into the campus's chief parent relations leader—maintaining alignment and converting satisfied families into advocates who amplify the school within their circles.

This is not a transactional enrollment process. It is relationship-building at an elevated standard. You must command respect from families with access to any school nationwide and who demand well-reasoned responses to difficult questions regarding AI, technology exposure, and student trajectories. A single misaligned family can disrupt a 25-student cohort. Strategic selectivity is essential.

If you are prepared to create something exceptional in a market that values sophistication, discretion, and measurable success, this role is designed for you.

What you will be doing

  • Manage the complete enrollment process from initial inquiry through signed enrollment agreement until 25 students are confirmed
  • Design and facilitate curated information sessions and one-on-one tours that attract ideal families while filtering out misaligned candidates
  • Establish credibility and relationships through consistent in-person engagement, private consultations, and strategic community alliances throughout Santa Barbara
  • Act as the central point of contact for prospective and enrolled families, providing personalized, white-glove service
  • Communicate and defend Alpha's AI-driven educational model to discerning, questioning parents with clarity and confidence

What you will NOT be doing

  • Adhering to a standard 9–5 routine; availability during mornings, afternoons, and select evenings is necessary
  • Depending on a full admissions or marketing department to generate leads for you
  • Enrolling every applicant simply to meet targets; maintaining cohort integrity is more important than enrollment volume
  • Operating primarily from an office; this position demands regular presence within the community

Key responsibilities

Recruit and enroll a founding cohort of 25 students in Santa Barbara, then build enduring parent engagement and advocacy to support sustained, referral-driven growth.

Candidate requirements

  • Currently reside within commuting range of Santa Barbara or prepared to relocate within 60 days
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
  • 5+ years of professional experience serving high-net-worth clientele in consultative sales or premium client engagement roles (examples include private school admissions, luxury services, hospitality, philanthropy, etc.)
  • Proven track record managing sales or enrollment pipelines with measurable conversion outcomes
  • Executive-level presence and communication abilities appropriate for affluent, highly educated audiences
  • Self-directed entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working autonomously in an early-stage campus setting
  • Belief in AI-powered education and readiness to address concerns about technology use and unconventional learning approaches
  • Flexibility for early morning hours (7–9am), late afternoon appointments (2–4pm), evening programming (2–3x monthly), and occasional weekend engagements

Nice to have

  • Existing connections within the Santa Barbara or Montecito community
  • Leadership experience in private or independent school admissions
  • Professional background in luxury real estate, development work, or major donor fundraising
  • Startup or early-stage venture experience
  • Experience organizing upscale events or developing community partnerships
