Description

Santa Barbara families shape trends rather than follow them.

Alpha is opening a campus in one of California's most selective and relationship-driven communities. This is not another private school competing on facilities and perks. Students complete their core academics in two intensive hours using AI-powered learning systems, then dedicate the remainder of their day to developing public speaking abilities, critical thinking, and real-world execution skills. The outcomes position students in the top 1% nationally. The model delivers. The challenge is whether it can establish trust locally.

From year zero through year one, this role centers on building enrollment from the ground up. In Santa Barbara, success means earning credibility within closely connected social circles where reputation amplifies and errors endure. You will design intimate information sessions, conduct private campus tours, engage families in one-on-one discussions, and carefully assemble the founding cohort. After enrollment stabilizes and an admissions director is brought on board, your role evolves into the campus's principal parent-facing leader, maintaining alignment and converting satisfied families into advocates within their networks.

This is not about transactional selling. It demands trust-building at an exceptional level. You must establish credibility with families who have access to any school nationwide and who expect substantive responses to difficult questions about AI integration, screen time, and long-term educational outcomes. A single misaligned family can disrupt a 25-student cohort. Selectivity is essential.

If you are prepared to build something distinguished in a market that values refinement, discretion, and measurable results, this opportunity is yours.

What you will be doing

  • Manage the complete enrollment funnel from initial inquiry through signed enrollment agreement until 25 students are confirmed
  • Facilitate curated information sessions and private campus tours that convert well-aligned families while filtering out poor-fit candidates
  • Develop visibility and credibility through daily in-person networking, private family meetings, and strategic community partnerships throughout Santa Barbara
  • Act as the primary point of contact for families, providing high-touch, concierge-level engagement
  • Articulate and defend Alpha's AI-powered educational model to thoughtful, questioning parents

What you will NOT be doing

  • Following a standard 9–5 schedule; mornings, afternoons, and select evening hours are necessary
  • Depending on a large admissions or marketing team to generate your leads
  • Enrolling every applicant to meet a target; safeguarding cohort quality takes precedence over enrollment volume
  • Operating from a desk; this role demands consistent physical presence within the community

Key responsibilities

Recruit and enroll a 25-student founding cohort in Santa Barbara, then foster parent loyalty and advocacy to generate sustained, referral-driven growth.

Candidate requirements

  • Currently reside within commuting distance of Santa Barbara or prepared to relocate within 60 days
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship requirements
  • 5+ years of experience working with high-net-worth clients in consultative sales or high-touch client service roles (private school admissions, luxury services, hospitality, philanthropy, etc.)
  • Proven track record managing a sales or enrollment funnel with measurable conversion outcomes
  • Executive presence and communication capabilities appropriate for affluent, highly educated families
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter who thrives working independently in an early-stage campus setting
  • Strong belief in AI-powered education and ability to address concerns regarding screen time and non-traditional educational approaches
  • Flexible availability for early mornings (7–9am), late afternoons (2–4pm), evening events (2–3x per month), and occasional weekend engagements

Nice to have

  • Existing relationships within the Santa Barbara or Montecito community
  • Experience in private or independent school admissions leadership
  • Background in luxury real estate, development, or major gift fundraising
  • Startup or early-stage company experience
  • Experience organizing high-end events or building community partnerships
