Admissions Specialist   $100,000 USD/year

Description

As the first point of contact for families navigating their child's educational future, you will directly influence how prospective families perceive Alpha. Every inquiry you answer, tour you arrange, and conversation you facilitate will determine whether a family commits to Alpha. This role requires precision, responsiveness, and authentic relationship-building—qualities that establish trust through consistent, thoughtful execution.

Alpha is constructing one of the world's most forward-thinking school models. Our campuses integrate rigorous academic standards, technology-enhanced instruction, and elevated expectations for both learners and educators. Admissions serves as the gateway where this vision becomes tangible. Prospective families seek more than facts. They need clarity, assurance, and proof that Alpha delivers something distinctly superior.

You will oversee the entire prospective family experience from initial contact onward. Your responsibilities include timely and considered responses, coordination of campus tours and shadow experiences, accurate applicant data management, and guiding parents through Alpha's operational philosophy to determine alignment with their aspirations. This is a highly visible, relationship-centered position where your actions directly affect enrollment outcomes.

This is an on-campus, fast-moving role based in San Francisco for a professional who thrives managing concurrent priorities with precision and care. If you excel at transparent communication, reliable execution, and empowering families to make educated decisions, this position provides substantial autonomy and measurable impact.

What you will be doing

  • Replying to prospective family inquiries within 24 hours with communication that is clear, professional, and consistent with Alpha's standards
  • Coordinating and delivering admissions events, campus tours, and student shadow visits from planning through follow-up engagement
  • Ensuring applicant records remain thorough and precise across CRM and admissions systems
  • Conducting meetings with families to clarify Alpha's educational model, respond to questions, and document key insights
  • Partnering with campus and admissions teams to maintain a streamlined and effective admissions process

What you will NOT be doing

  • Rendering final admissions decisions or establishing enrollment policies
  • Instructing students or managing curriculum content
  • Employing aggressive sales approaches or scripted messaging
  • Working in an environment lacking structure or urgency

Key responsibilities

Create a seamless, high-conversion admissions journey that converts early interest into committed enrollment, ensuring families feel well-informed, valued, and enthusiastic about joining Alpha.

Candidate requirements

  • 2+ years in a customer-facing role
  • At least 1 year of professional written communication experience engaging families or clients
  • At least 1 year working with a CRM, student information system, or similar database with proven attention to data precision
  • Robust organizational abilities with capacity to handle multiple workflows concurrently
  • Availability to work on-site in San Francisco, CA
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Nice to have

  • Experience in education, enrollment management, or school operations
  • Prior involvement in admissions events or high-touch onboarding initiatives
  • Ease working within rapidly evolving, technology-driven settings
