Admissions Specialist   $100,000 USD/year

Description

As an Admissions Specialist, you will serve as the primary contact for families evaluating where to begin their child's education. Each email you craft, event you organize, and discussion you facilitate will influence whether a family selects Alpha. This position is built for someone who prioritizes accuracy, timely responses, and authentic interpersonal engagement, and who recognizes that trust develops through careful, intentional execution.

Alpha is constructing one of the world's most forward-thinking school frameworks. Our locations integrate demanding academics, technology-enhanced instruction, and elevated expectations for both learners and team members. The admissions function is where this vision takes form. Families seek more than basic details. They seek transparency, assurance, and proof that Alpha distinguishes itself in substantive ways.

In this capacity, you will oversee the complete journey for prospective families starting with their initial outreach. You will reply with both speed and care, arrange campus visits and student shadow experiences, keep applicant information current and precise, and walk parents through Alpha's approach and its fit with their objectives. This is a high-visibility, relationship-centered role in which you directly affect enrollment outcomes.

This is an on-campus, fast-moving position in San Francisco suited to someone who can handle competing demands with both precision and attention. If you find satisfaction in transparent communication, dependable execution, and supporting families as they make informed decisions, this role provides considerable autonomy and influence.

What you will be doing

  • Replying to prospective family inquiries within 24 hours with communication that is clear, polished, and consistent with Alpha's values
  • Coordinating and delivering admissions events, campus tours, and shadow day experiences from planning through follow-up
  • Ensuring applicant records remain comprehensive and accurate across CRM systems and admissions tools
  • Conducting meetings with families to clarify Alpha's educational model, respond to their questions, and document key details
  • Partnering with campus staff and admissions team members to sustain an organized and effective admissions process

What you will NOT be doing

  • Rendering final admissions decisions or shaping enrollment policy
  • Instructing classes or managing academic content
  • Employing aggressive sales methods or templated messaging
  • Working within an environment that lacks structure or operates at a slow pace

Key responsibilities

Create a smooth, high-conversion admissions journey that moves initial curiosity toward committed enrollment, while ensuring families feel well-informed, valued, and enthusiastic about becoming part of Alpha.

Candidate requirements

  • 2+ years of customer-facing experience
  • At least 1 year of professional written communication experience with families or customers
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a CRM, student information system, or comparable database with demonstrated attention to data accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously
  • Ability to work on-site in San Francisco, CA
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Nice to have

  • Background in education, enrollment management, or school operations
  • Experience supporting admissions events or high-touch onboarding processes
  • Comfort working in fast-changing, tech-enabled environments
