Do you believe all children should achieve grade-level reading proficiency (or higher), yet find yourself frustrated by systems that squander their promise?

Alpha School demonstrates that literacy transformation doesn't demand 6-hour school days. Our 2-Hour Learning framework combines AI-powered adaptive platforms with specialized teaching to produce accelerated reading outcomes. Your role: create and implement workshops that generate quantifiable improvements in phonics, fluency, and comprehension for primary-grade learners.

This is not administrative busywork. It's evidence-based teaching, technology partnership, and constructing a reading curriculum that scales to thousands of learners.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating adaptive reading workshops that build phonics mastery, comprehension, and fluency
  • Creating customized motivational sessions anchored in gamified literacy benchmarks
  • Evaluating student performance data to optimize teaching methods and extract practical insights
  • Partnering with engineering teams to assess and refine AI-powered literacy platforms informed by classroom outcomes
  • Producing scalable, AI-integrated content that propels early elementary learners toward grade-level reading achievement

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering traditional lectures — learning occurs through self-directed AI applications, not passive listening
  • Implementing a standardized curriculum or scripted lessons — you construct your workshops independently
  • Instructing core academic disciplines — your domain is reading workshops and motivational guidance, not mathematics or science
  • Managing behavior or supervision tasks — each session pursues defined learning goals with trackable results
  • Operating independently — you engage directly with engineers who develop the AI systems your students interact with daily

Key responsibilities

Guarantee that every K-2 student under your instruction achieves at or above grade-level reading through AI-enhanced workshops that render phonics instruction compelling, quantifiable, and enjoyable

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree coupled with either a Master's in reading instruction OR structured literacy certification (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, IMSE, CERI, LETRS, Neuhaus, UFLI, or equivalent)
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (essential for student and family communication)
  • 2+ years conducting small-group reading interventions with early elementary students
  • Competent in evaluating reading proficiency, organizing student groups, and crafting differentiated instruction independent of pre-developed curricula
  • Experienced with AI/adaptive learning technologies and attuned to student behavioral data
  • Legal work authorization in Puerto Rico without employer sponsorship
  • Availability to work on-site in Dorado, Puerto Rico
