Founder Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • On-site position in Austin, TX (we provide relocation support)
  • Annual salary of $150,000, distributed weekly. Health benefits begin on day one.

The greatest gift you can give a teenager building a business is refusing to accept mediocrity. You understand that holding high standards is not about applying pressure—it's about believing the student is capable of reaching them. If this resonates with you, continue reading.

Your role centers on high school students who are launching genuine businesses with $1M upside—not mock ventures or classroom exercises. You will dedicate 60-65% of your time to one-on-one coaching: pinpointing where each founder is blocked, determining the most impactful next step, and ensuring accountability to a concrete action plan. The remaining 35-40% is divided between academic supervision and facilitating workshops designed to build practical competencies, not just generate lecture notes.

This is not a traditional teaching position. You are accountable for holistic student outcomes: venture momentum, academic performance, and personal development simultaneously. You will rely on dashboards, business metrics, and academic records to coach with data-driven precision rather than gut feeling. When a student's grades begin to falter, you step in proactively. When a venture loses traction, you identify the true obstacle, not the surface-level excuse.

You begin by understanding each student's business, their natural strengths, and their recurring friction points. Over time, you become the coach whose challenge they respect—because you've operated under pressure yourself. The payoff is witnessing a 16-year-old arrive with an idea and depart with a viable enterprise, the habits to sustain it, and the academic record that preserves future opportunities.

If you've been seeking a role where your operational expertise directly influences emerging founders, submit your application now. If you require a standardized syllabus, a predictable classroom environment, or a position where effort alone is rewarded, this is not the right fit.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting one-on-one coaching sessions with student founders on strategy, execution, and scaling—approximately two-thirds of your workweek
  • Leveraging student dashboards, venture updates, and academic metrics to assess progress and prescribe actionable next steps
  • Tracking academic performance and stepping in early when attention or time management begins to deteriorate
  • Designing and running workshops that deliver tangible, applied-learning outcomes
  • Facilitating stand-ups, debriefs, and group conversations that reinforce student accountability to their commitments

What you will NOT be doing

  • Teaching lectures or adhering to a fixed curriculum (you enable applied learning, not conventional classroom teaching)
  • Offering broad mentorship or motivational speeches without ensuring action item completion
  • Handling student operations—scheduling, documentation, or enrollment tasks
  • Attending routine faculty meetings or working through institutional bureaucracy (your focus remains on student outcomes)

Key responsibilities

Propel student founders toward ventures with $1M potential while ensuring they maintain strong academic standing.

Candidate requirements

  • Able to work on-site at Alpha High School in Austin, TX (relocation support is available)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience coaching or developing others (direct reports, colleagues, or clients), with a concrete example of a coaching engagement and its measurable results
  • Professional track record of owning critical outcomes or performance metrics, including at least one example showing $500,000+ in annual revenue impact
  • At least 1 year of experience working with young people (students, junior professionals, or youth program participants) on initiatives, skill development, or entrepreneurial projects
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Nice to have

  • Personal experience founding, co-founding, or running a startup or early-stage venture
  • Background as a Chief of Staff, program director, or top-tier individual contributor with full ownership of end-to-end results
  • Proficiency with AI-powered tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) to enhance coaching preparation, data analysis, or stakeholder communication
  • Experience in K-12 education, EdTech, or programs that integrate academics with practical application (such as accelerators, project-based curricula, or entrepreneurship initiatives)
