Description

Families at Alpha Miami rely on trusted advisors across every area of their lives. You will become the one they've been waiting for.

You will be the person they reach out to when they feel uncertain, when something doesn't sit right, or when they want to share a moment they know you will appreciate. You will understand each family deeply enough to sense what they need before they articulate it—and you will bring the judgment and composure to address what they share with discretion, care, and effortless professionalism. Over time, you will not simply be associated with their child's education. You will become woven into how they experience this defining chapter of their family's journey.

Miami's private school landscape is intimate, tightly connected, and intolerant of mistakes. A family's time at Alpha does not remain confined to the campus—it circulates through the networks that count: the residence, the club, the yacht, the fundraising circuit, the WhatsApp threads that influence where the next family enrolls. You will grasp this reality intuitively, because your career has been built in environments where reputation is the sole meaningful asset and a single error outlasts every success. You will cultivate a community families want to protect, where membership feels natural and referrals emerge because the experience justifies them.

Miami is inherently international. You will engage with Latin American families, multinational executives, finance and technology professionals who have recently relocated to Miami, and globally mobile households whose perspectives on education—and institutions broadly—are informed by contexts well beyond the American independent school model. Many navigate Miami, São Paulo, Bogotá, Madrid, and New York with the same ease others cross neighborhoods, and they will evaluate Alpha against alternatives anywhere on the planet. The ideal candidate for this position will be equally adept at managing cross-cultural family relationships—and the expectation of seamless, sophisticated engagement—as they are at navigating the established rhythms of Miami's private school environment.

Alpha operates outside traditional school structures. Students complete core academics in two hours daily using AI-powered applications, then dedicate the remainder of their time to public speaking, critical thinking, and real-world projects. No lectures. No unnecessary assignments. Top 1% outcomes nationally.

The families who select Alpha have made a deliberate choice—and in a city where opinions are abundant and educational decisions signal status, they will be asked to justify it frequently. You will ensure they are never at a loss for how to respond. If sustaining that conviction through years of discerning, internationally-informed skepticism feels like a challenge, this role is not suitable for you. If it sounds like the most compelling dialogue you could engage in, continue reading.

What you will be doing

  • Shape the cultural fabric of the school community—the tone, rituals, and implicit standards that foster a sense of belonging—so Alpha becomes a place families take pride in, not merely a school they selected
  • Manage the full arc of the parent relationship—from initial contact through enrollment, retention, and sustained advocacy—so faculty remain focused on students and families consistently have a trusted point of contact
  • Be the first to detect when something feels amiss, and address it with the discretion and insight that preserves trust—including the more difficult judgment of recognizing when a family is not the right match
  • Maintain presence where families are: arrival, departure, evening gatherings, and the spontaneous exchanges that carry the most weight
  • Develop a community that both domestic and international families feel invested in protecting—and where referrals occur because the experience merits them
  • Communicate Alpha's narrative persuasively—in individual discussions, at events, and in the settings filled with discerning, globally-oriented families where the school's standing is truly established

What you will NOT be doing

  • Operating from a desk—your visibility within the community defines the role
  • Adhering to standard 9–5 schedules—early mornings, late afternoons, and evening programming are inherent to the position, not occasional additions
  • Escalating challenging parent conversations to faculty or administrators—you own these conversations, entirely
  • Relying on administrative infrastructure, established workflows, or a complete team—you function with significant autonomy and create what is necessary
  • Approaching family relationships as transactional accounts—this role rewards authentic engagement, not procedural adherence

Key responsibilities

Serve as the central, trusted relationship for every family's journey at Alpha's Miami campus, and as the architect of the community culture surrounding it. Maintain their confidence through challenging moments, define the traditions and tone that make belonging feel meaningful, and establish the environment where satisfied families become active advocates within the networks that influence Miami's private school decisions.

Candidate requirements

  • 5+ years building and sustaining trust with high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families in a high-touch, relationship-centered role
  • A demonstrated history of guiding sophisticated clients through consequential decisions—with measurable outcomes you can describe: conversions, retention, referrals
  • The discretion and poise to navigate sensitive, confidential matters without leaving visible impact
  • A proven record of managing and developing people—coaching, maintaining high standards, and making tough personnel calls—not simply managing relationships or accounts
  • Organic cross-cultural fluency with globally mobile and established Miami families
  • AI-first orientation—you use AI tools fluently, understand their strengths and limitations, and proactively introduce superior options, even if you are not building them yourself
  • Located in Miami, available full-time on-site, and comfortable with non-standard hours
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Background as a head of school, principal, superintendent, or in an equivalent school leadership capacity
  • Professional fluency in Spanish or Portuguese
  • Personal or professional exposure to independent or non-traditional education
  • Established connections within Miami's private school parent networks
  • Experience working with internationally mobile, Latin American, or globally connected families
  • A personal network that reaches into the neighborhoods, clubs, and institutions where Alpha's families live and make decisions
