Admissions Counselor   $75,000 USD/year

Description

Alpha School is transforming the landscape of education. With AI-powered learning, progression anchored in mastery, and outstanding guides, Alpha enables students to explore profound interests while reaching exceptional academic results.

As an Admissions Counselor, you'll guide each family's experience from initial inquiry through enrollment, ensuring that every touchpoint embodies Alpha's precision, approachability, and excellence. Your responsibilities include managing day-to-day correspondence, organizing impactful admissions experiences, and keeping applicant data accurate and actionable.

If you excel in dynamic, purpose-focused settings—where attention to detail, timely communication, and structured execution drive family engagement and enrollment success—this hybrid role combines remote flexibility with regular on-site participation in admissions activities.

What you will be doing

  • Addressing inquiries from prospective families within 24 hours with communication that is clear, professional, and consistent with Alpha's values
  • Organizing and delivering admissions events, campus visits, and shadow day experiences, handling logistics and follow-up outreach
  • Ensuring applicant records remain comprehensive and precise across CRM systems and admissions tools
  • Conducting family meetings to clarify Alpha's educational approach, answer questions, and document key information
  • Partnering with campus staff and admissions team members to maintain a streamlined and responsive admissions process

What you will NOT be doing

  • Rendering final admissions decisions or shaping enrollment policies
  • Delivering instruction or managing academic curriculum
  • Employing aggressive sales methods or relying on scripted messaging
  • Working within a disorganized or slowly evolving organization

Key responsibilities

Provide a polished, conversion-focused admissions journey that turns early interest into committed enrollment, ensuring families feel well-informed, valued, and eager to become part of Alpha.

Candidate requirements

  • 2+ years of customer-facing experience in admissions, enrollment, events, or related roles
  • At least 1 year of professional written communication experience with families or customers
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a CRM, student information system, or comparable database with demonstrated attention to data accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously
  • Ability to work on-site in Scottsdale, AZ
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Nice to have

  • Background in education, enrollment management, or school operations
  • Experience supporting admissions events or high-touch onboarding processes
  • Comfort working in fast-changing, tech-enabled environments
